This is more like feedback since it technically is working as intended.
Eldritch Knight can learn spells of Abjuration and Evocation only but when you hit the Manage Spells tab it lets you choose from all types.
With a quick check this also applies to Arcane Tricksters as they can only pick Enchantment and Illusion spells.
This problem mostly stems from a player/dm knowledge of subclasses but limiting the selection, or a filter by spell type for the search would be appreciated. Thanks.
They start with 1 spell of any school and as they level up get more. I can only imagine what a pain in the @$$ it would be to code that restriction in.
It wouldn't be difficult at all if they added it a a selectable spell from leveling up, like setting stats or getting a class specific spell. Then they could have the filter on at all times and you would just select the any spell on certain levels.
I would honestly prefer it if they left it as-is. It’s a common mod to let eldritch knights pick spells they otherwise wouldn’t have access to (like illusion and conjuration). Just takes a proactive DM to make sure players don’t get too OP, though I don’t really see that happening without lots of help.

They don't filter because it's possible for both of those subclasses to learn a spell from any school at specific levels.
