An issue I've encountered in some of my Homebrew shenanigans is that some of my material is prevented from being posted because "This homebrew Item has text that includes External Links". I can see why this prohibition exists; obviously, you don't want links to random other websites on your website, because that opens the door for spam and whatnot, which is both a huge pain to deal with and not something you want associated with your website. Totally understandable.
Thing is, though, that none of the content of mine that is being flagged has links that lead to other websites; they all link to other things that are ON the dndbeyond domain. So what, exactly, is an external link? I did a little bit of research, and according to yourdictionary dot com (which I spelled out instead of typing the URL so that THIS post doesn't get flagged for external links :P ), an external link is "A hyperlink that leads to another website" (emphasis mine), which it further defines by contrasting with the definition of an internal link: "A hyperlink that links to another page on the same Web site". A different website (computerhope dot com) said that a link may be considered "external" if it links to a different subdomain, even if it is within the same domain. Seeing the term "subdomain" is where I was starting to feel confused and where my research stopped.
Which definition are you using, dndbeyond? Is Homebrew that points to other Homebrew really something that you consider external, or is this just a bug that hasn't been worked out yet? Is allowing Homebrew with links to other dndbeyond content to be published something that we can expect in the near future, or is that not something that your team intends to implement?
(P.S.: Is addressing these kinds of requests to "dndbeyond" common, or do most people try to address specific moderators?)
In terms of definition, Internal/External always apply to a specific system boundary.
In this case, external, is used to define, "any link that it outside of your homebrew" - I agree that the message displayed could explain this better though!
If you wish to know how to use tooltips, the recommended way to link content, please reference this thread:

Ahhh, I see. It is indeed clearer when you explain it that way. I have used tooltips before, though I find myself pretty consistently forgetting details and needing to reference this very thread :P It would be cool if it was a little easier for different Homebrewed things to reference each other, but I suppose that starts to get into a "Feature Request thread" territory, which this is not. At any rate, thank you for getting back to me so quickly Stormknight, I appreciate it!

Homebrew doesn't like links at all. Replace them with tooltips where applicable.

my homebrew is having the same issue but i didnt link anything on it. You guys know why this happend?
Cause no one is willing to fix the system Allowing link to a specific domain is trivial BUT someone has to do it. Pretty disappointing.
