Trying to add Faerie Fire to a spellbook. This is a first level spell available in the basic rules, and the Player's Handbook (which i have purchases through this site)
Is your character a Wizard?
Wizards are limited to being able to add spells to their spellbook from the Wizard spell list.
The spell Faerie Fire isn't on the Wizard spell list, so can't be added to a wizard's spell book (per the rules).
If your DM decides otherwise, you can create a homebrew copy of the spell and set it as usable by Wizards! There's a guide on how to do that here:
