I purchased the Theros sourcebook. I thought this unlocked the Theros content for character creation. However, the Centaur/Minotaur are explicitly the Ravnica versions, and the Triton is different as well. I feel like there should be Theros variants or at least notes?
Centaurs - It does not provide the notes about Lagonna vs Pheres centaurs, instead discussing Ravnica guilds alignments (Selesnya vs Gruul). It also provides notes in the Languages section that are not part of Theros. The linked page is for Ravnica centaurs not Theros centaurs.
Minotaurs - It does not provide the alignment information regarding Skophos minotaurs vs not-Skophos minotaurs. The linked description page is for Ravnica minotaurs not Theros minotaurs. When you select & continue with this race it features this description prominently: "The minotaurs of Ravnica are strong in body, dedication, and courage. They are at home on the battlefield, willing to fight for their various causes."
Tritons - Theros tritons are described as neutral, but the ones available in the character creator are described as lawful good. The linked page is not for Theros tritons.
I don't want my players to get confused, so please add the missing Theros variants, or at least specify with Theros notes.
Was this resolved? Because I'm still seeing the issue. The races are also not listed in the Theros section of races - they're only listed in the Ravnica section. As stated earlier, they're not the same.

they are the same mechanically. if you want to read the Theros specific ones, you can just... read the book. The only time a race will be split as an option in the character creator is if there is a *mechanical* difference, not a lore difference.
Also, each race has a "sourcebook" that it is from. since Centaur and Minotaur came out in Ravnica first, that's their "sourcebook" even if they appear elsewhere. This is a Beyond limitation.

While the races are mechanically the same, when you click to pick a race, could a link with the Theros reference be added to the popup description? i.e. If I'm in the character builder and click on the Centaur race, a popup with a short description open and ask me to confirme race selection. In this description there is a link for the "Centaur Details Page" which link to the Ravnica version of the Centaur. I think it could be possible to have both a link to Ravnica and Theros Details.
Also, it would be nice if when you select a sourcebook in the caracter creation, that it shows up all the options for the book, even those provided from an other source. i.e. by selecting Mythic Odyssesys of Theros as your sourcebook in the Race section of the character builder, it would list: Human, Centaur, Leonin, Minautor, Satyr and Triton, instead of just Leonin and Satyr as it is now.
I agree. I still think, even though they're mechanically the same as the Ravnica races, they should have their own links. The Eberron and Wildemount orcs are mechanically the same, so it's only a Beyond limitation by choice. The mechanics are important, but so is the flavor text. I pay a LOT of money for Beyond content, and don't think it's too much to ask to have the content emulate the books it purports to emulate.
Yup, we're aware that we could certainly improve how races appear in the character builder, as well as somehow adding the descriptions from the various sources.

Wildemount orcs don't get Nature proficiency as one of their choices, so they actually are mechanically different.
...even if it's a small thing.

Hi D&D Beyond team,

I see this has been addressed - mods please lock/delete. Thank you.

It's definitely something we want to get done.
