I cannot find a thread for this so: I use Chrome for dnd beyond and have been using the digital dice since they came out in Beta and they have been rolling so beautifully. Until recently... All of a sudden my digital dice are rolling with such lag its painful. I have optimized my computer/updated drivers and its still laggy as shit but only the dice rolling is there a solution for this? Or is this a known problem being worked on?
First things to check would be is Chrome up to date (and on stable, not beta release channels)? Are there any other browser extensions or ad blockers you might have that could be impacting the dice, and can you test from a different browser and a different device?

legitimately. All of the addons I have now i had before when it was working, everything is up to date and its the same even on like edge but my phone its fine (and phone uses chrome)
For add ons like ad blockers, they have filter lists that regularly get updated - it could be that a recent update has caused an issue - I'd recommend disabling them one at a time to see if you can pinpoint.
If it's just affecting one device (computer) across multiple browsers, it might be related to an anti-virus program with an update that is blocking something, or perhaps the graphics card driver having an update? Can you check if something recently updated around the time the dice started to become laggy?
My dice were rolling on my laptop in Chrome so silky smooth until two weeks ago. I even rolled 20+ health potion dice at once just to watch them slosh around. Then two weeks ago the digital dice started to roll one jerky step at a time and it takes around 45 seconds to a minute for the roll to finish. I have updated Chrome, cleared browser, logged on my character in a Chrome incognito tab to see how it acted with no extensions (no change, still 45+ second laggy stuttering rolls). I did find a temporary solution, I keep a Firefox window open to my character sheet and do my rolls there. It's unfortunate I can't roll in Chrome anymore and am still looking for a solution so I don't have to toggle between two browsers during sessions. I could go back to physical dice and math but I'm not quite ready to give up.

Ya, i have tried like all of this (well i don't have firefox) but I've clear my cashe/cookies etc, removed some extensions I wasn't really using, checked everything for updates, even blocked google analytics, hardware acceleration is on...
same issue. my last successful game that I remeber was at Oct16. I tried playing again last weekend oct24 and I noticed that the dice rolls are stuttering/laggy. roll20 tokens are laggy too. foundry maps wont load so I switched over to firefox and it works perfectly. its something wrong with chrome. any other suggestions/
Unfortunately it's still not fixed for me after 5 months, and still takes 45 seconds to roll dice. I have stopped using Chrome for D&D nights, which is annoying since I do all my game notes in Google Docs and it's harder to sign in to everything on Firefox.
Ys, dice rolling works perfectly for me on Firefox. I can Tab out of Chrome and roll dice 10 times on Firefox before the one roll will show results on Chrome. I just don't understand why and I've given up trying to find answers.
I had changed the setting "force color profile" in chrome experimental flags to HDR10 as it fixed a problem with reddit videos being too bright in chrome.
Unfortunately with that fix applied it made the dice rolling in DNDBeyond laggy as hell so for anyone else that has applied that you need to change it back to default.

Right there with you guys. Was working fine and now is slow as molasses. Don't think this could be coincidence.
Chrome clearly has an update it needs badly...
It works just fine on my cheap laptop but fails on my 1000 dollar pc

It works on firefox and edge?

On chrome I found that if you enables the 'Hardware accel' it fixed this for my mates. Give that a go in the chrome settings
Fixed!!
Yes this works! Thank you!!!
this did not work for me
Worked for me!

Thank you this solved it for me!
