Hello! I'm the DM and I allowed my players to have a feat at level one per the optional rules in the handbook. However, it seems you can't add a feat at level one through the character builder. Going to "Features and Traits" in the completed character sheet allows me to add one, but it doesn't allow me to add additional details. For example, our bard wants to take the Metamagic Adept (UA) feat which allows you to choose two Metamagic options. Once taken it says "No Choice Made" and I can't find any screen that allows me to make those choices.
On the character sheet, click on "Manage Feats" and in the sidebar, scroll to find the selected feat - you should see a blue exclamation mark next to it, alerting you that choices need to be made.
Click on the down arrow on the feat and it will expand to show you the full description text for the feat, as well as allow you to make any choices.
Ah! The blue exclamation mark. That solves it. Thank you very much. The pictures were immensely helpful and the timely response was great, too. Happy to be a subscriber ;)
