I was also thinking this. I understand it would be a huge undertaking to put in every possible item but it would be all neatly categorized and it IS part of the character sheet.

I am first and foremost a husband and father. DMing comes in at a VERY close third.
I can, see your point to wanting it listed in the items list though. It does seems the item list is for those items that wouldn't be part of the information a Player has access to, generally speaking.

Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one. The purpose of 'constructive criticism is to improve the outcome.
Agreed - as I'm looking at this, my main comparison is going to be to the roll20 compendium tools, and it has (for example) entries for a quarterstaff, as well as +1/+2/+3 versions of the weapon so you can quickly reference and add it to your character sheet. Seems to be an oversight to not have at least the base items easily searchable in the "items" database.
It appears that the item list is for magic items only.
For example: to look at stats of a quarterstaff, you must reference the SRD compendium.
Is it intended to work this way?

I don't think they would have to put every item - they could just do all the items in the Players Handbook
If you look under Compendium - Far right column, Adventuring Gear is there. I agree it should be in the same location.
They have the information listed in the Compendium, just not as part of the Item list.

That's what I mean and make it so there is a place to type in those odd items that we DMs might throw your way.

Also requesting basic items being added to the item list.
ditto, basic items should be added to the items tab
