Love the donjon site it has made my DMing so much more efficient.
Same. Being able to sort all the items and monsters is amazing. I am excited to hopefully have D&D Beyond take it's place. My biggest problem with Donjon is that it is incomplete. Not all the monsters/items are filled out.

Hell yeah I am going to Polymorph the boss into a Rabbit. I have always wanted a being a pure evil stuffed into a ball of fluff.
They could easily fit into a "Prep Tools" section. I'd personally like a proper robust option like the OP suggested. I don't just want a "Description generator" but a full NPC generator, randomly assign a complete Statblock. Skills, Abilities, Spells, Equipment, the works. Maybe something where you choose a generic NPC block that exists and it let's you generate the same NPC type at various CRs. Rather than DonJon's generator I'd favor something like http://rpgtinker.com/index.php?template=Evoker&radioattribute=Medium Array (14%2C12%2C12%2C10%2C10%2C8)&numberofhitdice=4&hitdice=d6
Though I must admit I think random generators are far beyond the scope of this beta.

Wow I just checked out Rpgtinker and it's awesome thanks, implementing something like this or Donjon to the site would be epic.

This would be something that belongs in phase 3 for the campaign manager, maybe in phase 2 for the character builder. Hopefully we get more information about the details of those phases soon. Great idea!
I'd personally like to take a Statblock from the official NPC list, IE: Bandit, Mage, Veteran, etc. and then raise or lower its CR to suite different encounters. I get the whole idea that bounded accuracy means that a group of low CR bandits still "threaten" higher level PCs to some degree but I'd like to be able to quickly and easily adjust CR to suite the needs of the situation. If it's in the Character builder it could be pretty nice, take an NPC and add race, class, modify spells and equipment etc. But it is probably pretty complex to program so...
That is a pretty awesome idea, I see myself using npc and monster stats and just modify accordingly. Add or lower hit points or add an extra attack etc.
Would love an NPC Generator
Pick Race/Class/Challenge Rating and it spits out an NPC with stat block/skills/attacks/spells. That would save me some serious time.
I agree! somthing similar to the Donjon NPC generator that is more updated would be amazing!

I literally just asked my girlfriend if she could code a program that does that exact thing today. Lol

Upvoting that.
Any random X generator would be amazing. There's all those random generators in the DMG. Would be cool to have here.
Agreed, the DMG has a lot of useful Generators. I wonder where they would all fit though.

But not beyond the scope of Beyond's full implementation, so it's worth mentioning!
True that! i look forward to seeing D&D Beyond come to fruition! :)

Oh, I totally agree, I just don't expect it to be the priority for cures :(
True that I try not to get my hopes up too much, I expect great things from this site but "hope is only the denial of reality" - Raistlin Majere.

It's mostly the stat block, abilities and spells I'd like generated.
I have trouble balancing the CR of spellcasting NPCs

Bump. Would love to see if this is something in the works?
