The Create a Monster section could be made much easier to use. To create a monster from scratch, I more or less have to open the DM Guide and then work everything out. But many calculations are based on certain parameters.
What I recommend is the following:
The first section to fill in should be hit dice.
The second section to fill in should be the monster's statistics.
From these, we should automatically know many of the monster's values. So the monster's modifier to hit for melee attacks will be based on the proficiency bonus based on hit dice, and the ability score modifier based on strength/dex. It would be excellent if these were then suggested for the creature when filling in any melee and ranged attacks.
Under Armor Class, a drop-down menu of types of armor would enable the user to generate an AC without having to calculate (with DEX being taken into account)
Make Spellcasting a drop down menu, where you select the ability score and the spellcaster's level. A further drop-down menu of available spells or searchable box would then be useful.
