Perhaps (probably) this has been answered elsewhere. This is a prepurchase question, so I am less embarrassed to ask it!
If I buy a subscription, will I be able to create characters with all source material, or do I need to buy the digital books to be able to create characters with classes, and races, detailed within those digital books?
If I have to buy books, to create characters with associated classes and races, do I need a subscription at all if I don't care about the limit of six character sheets at a time?
So, for example, if a $100 bundle buys me the books with classes and races I am interested in creating characters for, can I then use a free account to create six characters at a time?
If a friend at my games club has a master subscription, can he use that to allow me to create characters with all the source material we collectively own (subject to the limit of 12 people sharing)?
No - subscriptions do not grant access to any WotC content.
No, not if you don't care about only having 6 characters usable at a time.
Correct.
Yes - if you are in a campaign with someone who has used their master subscription to turn on content sharing for that campaign, you will have access to the items purchased on DDB by anyone in that campaign. There is a limit of 5(?) campaigns one person can turn on sharing for, as well.

You want this thread, with a dash of this thread.
In short:
No - subscriptions do not grant access to any WotC content.
