When play testing Maps with one of my players last night we discovered that if they had a token selected they would not see updates on their end when the DM moves it until they deselect the token. IMO the DM selecting and moving a token should override the player. Players should also not be able to select monster tokens and move them.
Yeah, as a DM, i am about to integrate MAPS but in testing, found players can move and even delete my monster tokens.
Now, i trust my players not to do so, but the DM view is already different than the player view, so it;s clearly not a shared space. Definitely should be able to have a way to mark tokens as DM only, Player only, or both.
How can we lock monster tokens so players cannot change the names of them? That's my big gripe. I have one player who changes the names of monsters in mid combat to stupid names. There has to be a way to lock the tokens...

You can't at this point. Access control, if it's coming, is a future feature.
Also, this is asking for a technical solution to a people problem. Even if you could do what you want, there's an underlying problem that's likely to come out in other ways.

At the bottom of your map there is a circle with an i in it. Click that then settings. You can turn off player control of the monster tokens.
Couple other settings there also.
