Hopefully this is in the correct place for a feature request:
As a DM I feel that I should have control to set once that we will be allowing the following source books for a specific campaign
Currently this is done on character level and not being overridden by campaign level.
For example
Legacy : On/Off
Filter : multiverse (hide non core books that are specific to a specific multiverse)
Partner content Yes/No (multiselect for the list below)
Allow sourcebooks list : All/select similar to "sharing" of adventures/partner content/specific core rule sets. Allowing legacy on a specific rulebook could be a special exception to the off above
These selected options would be available for the players to use when creating/leveling up their characters or adding items to their sheets instead of all options.
Anyone then creating a new character will then only be presented with relevant options once they accept the campaign invite.
It already is. It's extremely granular and has been a feature for quite a while.
Start the campaign, enable content sharing, content management. Go through the books and check what you want and don't want.
I guess the thing you can't do is disallow a player to use books if they bought the book themselves. That said, it's easy to edit a players character and turn off the toggles.
Unfortunately, we cannot disallow the use of the 2024 new content in our new and ongoing campaigns. There needs to be a switch to TURN OFF all 2024 rule changes for those of us running a pure 2014 campaign. This would clean up the UI and prevent confusion in new, and older, players.

While it doesn't change the UI, you're able to disallow the 2024 PHB. Also, just speak with your players and tell them to pick the legacy options. That's not difficult in the slightest.
It's not difficult to speak with my players to disallow the 2024 rules, but my players are also upset about the clutter. In the middle of running my campaign tonight one suggested switching systems entirely, and in a several years long campaign that's never happened.
My subscription has been cancelled already, and if it's not resolved by the time it runs out we'll move on. DDB was so convenient and easy to use I was happy to pay for it, now it's not.
They could very easily offer a version that's pre-2024 rules rollout, and while I doubt WoTC will let them, I'd pay an additional fee on my sub just to support it.

That only turns off compendium to the players, they still have access to all of it in the character building tools, they just can't read the books.

CENSORSHIP IS THE TOOL OF COWARDS and WANNA BE TYRANTS.
The lack of this common sense feature is extremely frustrating and if it isn't developed soon, we will be taking our 6-year running play group to Pathfinder.
Read the first sentence in that same site where you can turn of sharing of books and you will realize your mistake in the thought process. Next to that, the new core rules 2024 are always active as well.
Content sharing is great except the assumption being that only the dm buy the books being incorrect.
I may want to run a legacy adventure but use the latest rules where applicable
On the other hand I may only want to use the older rules
Or disallow 3rd party content
Or more gradually pick a mix of rules
Perhaps just keep it super simple for newbies
What this should change is the options that are available on the character sheets for the character that is connected to the dms campaign and presented to the player automatically.
Currently the player can just set what is allowed on their sheet (and mistakes can be made)
With more 3rd party content on the way the options will become more overloaded increasingly over time.
I may want to allow mgt content but only from say Ravnica book or applicable to everthing related to another setting like Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk
Also being able to say I'm running a specific module or modules would make those adventure items potentially available from within the campaign settings
Finally just another thought but these filters being applied to the maps would also be wonderful
I am running a strictly 2014 rules edition game. Actually I'm running three of them. And having the 2024 rules content for CORE display along with legacy at the same time is confusing and pissing off my players. If this gets to the point the players are talking about walking out due to this, I will seriously have to consider cancelling my DM subscription and move to a different support site and likely different RPG system.
PLEASE - add a switch in the character generator UI for players to use to turn off all 2024 content, and also add the same ability in the DM's Campaign sources allowed list, to turn off all 2024 content.
WOTC and Hasbro - I understand you have this concept for a digital system, supported by AI, through DND-Beyond (we know you're already using AI), and letting many employees go. We know this is happening as the posts from all the corp level meetings are online. They are not hard to find and confirm that D&D users are being told one story, while the mega financiers and businesses are getting a different story.
BUT - you can not force us to use this. We use D&D and D&D Beyond on a voluntary basis. There are many alternate RPG systems. You're just giving us more reasons to go try them.
Hoping WOTC and HASBRO make the right choice to preserve D&D for all players - no matter what version they want to use.

This is exactly the feature that would convince me to reactivate my master tier subscription.
