I've noticed some odd behavior for ritual spells on character sheets. The new 2024 spells do not display the ritual tag when selecting spells... Well they do... but only AFTER you select them. Is there a reason for this? I can't imagine a good one. Take a look:
Here, I'm a 2024 wizard trying to quickly add a spell to my spell book. I'm interested in a ritual spell, and looking at Identify, but nowhere on the spell am I informed that this spell might be a ritual!
Now, once I select it, look at what happens. It changes.
This is maybe to account for some new wording on ritual casting rules (that would be my guess) but this does not help the player make a decision when selecting a spell. Perhaps it's a design oversight, and can be fixed. I'm hoping you will consider showing the ritual tag once again by default.
I'm pretty sure we as users are used to and understand that seeing the ritual tag means the spell CAN be cast as a ritual, if we choose to do so. Removing the tag does not alleviate confusion, and in fact, adds confusion. Now we have to memorize what spells are rituals? As a Wizard, Rituals are a great way to get extra prepared spells. But if I'm not shown which spells are rituals, I cant prepare effectively. I don't think this choice helps players unfamiliar with the game at all. Even a vet like me was confused, believing for a moment that rituals had been removed from the game. I think this is something that should be corrected.
TLDR: When browsing the character sheet spells tab, the ritual tag should ALWAYS be clearly displayed. It's information that might affect weather or not I take a spell.
I agree with this 100 percent! Changing the visibility on Ritual spells just because all casters can cast prepared ritual spells is a flawed design, we need to know if it is a ritual BEFORE we pick the spell.
Just came across this myself. Bunch of spells i know should be and thought they might have removed the ability for them. Seems strange to omit something like this. Maybe needs a function to bring up the tag if its only usable by a class who has Ritual Casting.

Agreed - came to the forums looking exactly for this issue. Bizarre functionality that needs fixing.

looks like this is fixed now
Nope, not yet. Or, at least not all of them. IDENTIFY 2024 is still missing the (R)itual tag.
