D20Pro is working on using DDB as embedded character sheets, but they only started working on this a few days ago so it's only semi-functional at this point. The best options I've found thus far are the Roll20 DDB Importer and the BeyondRoll20 Chrome Extension. Hopefully we'll get something soon - especially with services other than Roll20.
Roll20/Fantasy Grounds and DDB can be used together, just not directly integrated. Have Chrome open with your character sheet, and have a second tab open for Roll20. That's what my group does. We drag tokens around on the Roll20 map, and we mark damage, spells slots, inspiration, arrow usage, etc etc etc on the DDB character sheet. It's not that hard and it works GREAT.
Why do we keep insisting that one single product do everything? I buy my books in DDB, create campaigns, invite players, share my books. Then, in Roll20 we video conference, drag tokens around. I buy token art on Roll20.
Someone asked me once how I decided which company (DDB, Roll20, FG) to use to buy my digital books.
Here's why I chose DDB: Versatility.
FG and Roll20 are fine products that do certain things very well. But purchasing digital content from them restricts me to using that content only within their platforms. DDB however lets me use my purchased content in a multitude of ways.
I can:
Create characters and print them out for use at a table without internet access.
Create characters and use them on my tablet/laptop at a table with internet access.
Create characters and use them at a virtual tabletop (FG, Roll20, Google Hangouts)
Easily search all my content regardless of internet access (download your books within the app)
Share my purchases with the people at my table (by creating a campaign and inviting them so they can use it on their mobile/laptop, or by passing my iPad around just like I would a physical book).
I guess I just don't understand why we'd want any of these devs at any of these companies to spend valuable developing time integrating what we can already do. I'd much rather have them working on their core products.
After reading up on roll20, i can no longer support or refer them. From now on I will only refer Fantasy Grounds for VTT. otherwise, it is DDB all the way.

I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.
While I do want to leave Roll20, the recent customer service/PR disaster is not the primary reason. For me they spend a lot of resources on things I don't care about and ignore things that matter to me (even simple things like uploading more appropriate status markers from game-icons.net). I'll probably use them up until some other VTT implements official DDB syncing.

I agree. Especially with the status markers. The choices they currently have match almost nothing that might actually be affecting a player (or token). But yes, they spend insane amount of resources on things that boggle my mind when really, they should be improving what they already have. Yes, Roll20 works, for the most part. It's ugly as hell, complicated, and the GUI is well, bad. But yes, it works.

I'm of the opposite opinion - I find most of the internet outrage to be overblown and out of proportion. But obviously to each their own.
i agree, to each their own. But as a White Male player that they themselves stated they do not need, I therefore decided they don't need my money either.
I guess we can all be offended about every other thing said out there about anyone else, but since it is against white males, it is overblown and no need to cause a fuss about it.
Currently I'm working in my free time to create an NPC/Monster importer for generating NPC entries for DnDBeyond statblocks in Fantasy Grounds. However due to no-statblock uniformity, I've kinda halted this development. The statblock tends to morph pending on what content you own. I'd rather have it have 'Description' or 'Lair actions' headers with no content in them so at least my importer can detect them.
That's why we need AAPIs. All of that would be in the JSON response
Our group uses the BeyondRoll20 extension for Chrome. It is great. Can't understand, why it isn't supported anymore. It also is nuisance, that it isn't in Chrome Store, so you have to install it via Developer Mode. Would really love to see functionality of BeyondRoll20 expanded to tools like Beyond Help, D&D Beyond Interaction or D&D Toolbox (or better the functionality of the latter to the former).
The best way to know what is going on is to watch the monthly development updates. If I remember correctly, APIs are a long ways off. They are still adding features and revamping existing ones. Creating ASIs now would mean redoing them every time they add/modify a feature. They have also said that working out the business/legal elements to a partnership with other companies is proving to be complex and complicated.
Curse staff also prioritize features (at least in part) based on what benefits the most users. So, player tools were first. More DM tools are now on the short term roadmap. . I know that control over what is shared in content sharing is one of the next features they will be working on, for example.

Well that is pretty nice! Thanks for the heads up on those Jedd.

You are referring to their recent Reddit Debacle, I assume.
Yea, I have issues with how that went down, too.

Well, I'm not going to stop using Roll20 over it.Whole thing seemed dumb and avoidable. Including the outrage.

Anyone has a good solution to use the player maps or a world map in an online game? Some suggest roll20 - any information how I could adapt the maps?
Well, that depends. Do you have the player maps in a digital format? Scanned/Photo'd/Purchased as a graphic (jpg, tff, png)
If so, you just upload them into Roll20 and place them as a map. For the exact directions on how to do so, see the Roll20 wiki for tutorial.

checking on updates on this tool
I see twitch tools, and some other integrations that are native embedded elements, but not as yet - for the externals.
