When selecting languages, the ones you know already shouldn't be in the list to pick. For instance, when I choose Human race, and need to pick an additional language, Common is an option. It would be better to filter the options based on what's already given.
I can't seem to figure out how to add a +1, +2... etc modifier to a homebrew weapon.
Also I can't seem to figure out how to equip a character with a homebrew weapon. It may be I am missing something obvious but it doesn't seem very intuitive.
Things I've noticed: half elf ability scores don't calculate correctly... (The selectable plus 1s don't get added to the scores) and random generation creates illegal characters first try I made a tiefling that has snirfblein magic. Second try I got a monk/druid/warlock multiclass with a 9 wisdom and 10 charisma
Echoing this one. I started as human then had to go back and reselect my ability improvements.
I would also say that Backgrounds need to be after abilities but before classes. You get free skills form your background that I have had to go back and select different ones from my class after that as well.
I'm not saying they shouldn't get paid but I'm also a regular working person who had to save up for the phb that I have now. And with some unknown price for a book that honestly there's already a digital version of is a little crazy to contemplate. But also it makes it sound like a subscription and not a one time fee. But also as I previously stated why can't subraces be something that can be added manually?
In character creation, when you have an option to select something, it's marked as follows:
Player Choices
Throughout the builder, things that require your attention will be marked with an icon (!)
However, it's all too easy to simply press the right arrow to go to the next step and miss this, especially if it's in a long list of items. Could you please add the option to pop up a warning to the user that there are one or more items that haven't been selected yet? You could even have a "Don't warn me about this again" checkbox so that users who don't want to be warned will only see it the very first time.
Please forgive me if someone already suggested this, but I think it would be a great idea to be able to expand the spells to show their descriptions when managing them. As it is, you can see the names, but you'd have to open the compendium in a separate window to see what they actually do.
1) When adding the personality traits, if you select a background, allow the user to pick or roll from the traits, bonds, flaws, etc. and have them populate into the character sheet. Right now, it shows the table, but doesn't have an easy way to get the text imported into the sheets, other than copy-paste I suppose.
2) Managing equipment is a little too free-form for setting up a new character. When picking a weapon, for example, maybe I can't remember what weapons a cleric has proficiency in by default. Rather than showing a huge list with a search button, consider a two-tab interface:
a) Starter: this tab would contain only the character's proficient weapons, and only the ones that they would have at Level 1 (e.g. no magical weapons)
b) Market: this tab would have the interface that is there today, with a search field and the full list of weaponry
Skill Selection should be bundled as a step after Race, Attributes, Class and Background is complete.
Right now, there's no way to easy understand 1) what skills you've already chosen and 2) what your end proficiency will be.
If you have a skill-heavy build (half-elf + Rogue / Bard + (eventually) some feature with bonus to skill check) then it would be easier to be able to manage all my skill selections in one area. Other online builders have done this to good effect.
I like the addition of quickbuild, one of the things i noticed was that most of the races that have sub races were separated such as hill dwarf and mountain dwarf, but the dragonborn race automatically chooses brass dragon. I suggest the addition of a dropdown menu in the quickbuild that lets you choose the dragonborn subrace once you have first selected "dragonborn" also adding an annotation beside the race in the drop down for what element thier resistance and breath weapon is would be helpful.
i did notice a bug as well, when you quickbuild the sorcerer it chooses draconic, but it does not adjust the AC of the draconic sorcerer from 10+dex to 13+dex as the calculated AC is still 11. A quick workaround would be adding an armor item that buffs the AC to 13+dex

Tabletop brings humankind together, helping you experience things with a perspective you could not otherwise experience. At the table we are all equals there for the love of stories and adventure. Therefore I will work hard to bring dnd to new players and communities so we may grow to understand one another.
Also, is there a reason the arcane focus doesn't appear in the equipment list?
Oops! I just realized that arcane focus is actually a category of equipment rather than an item in and of itself. Still, it would be helpful if those items appear if you type "arcane focus" in the search bar.
When choosing equipment, I think the default should be a list of mundane equipment with which the character is proficient. A player could opt to see magical items or mundane items in which he or she is not proficient by clicking a button, perhaps.
And while choosing personality traits, bonds, flaws, etc., the player should be able to select them from a dropdown menu populated with options appropriate to his or her background, with an option to write in one's own.
When adding crossbow bolts from the equipment manager screen of the character builder. Any number of bolts over 10 fail to load.
Also I reviewed the details of crossbow bolts. It says that it is a pack of 20. So more than 10 is a problem anyway. :) Unfortunately, you cannot access this detail screen from the add equipment page of the equipment manager. So a player might not realize that they are adding stacks of 20 crossbow bolts instead of individual bolts.
I just wanted to say that even with the minor issues, this looks like it's going to shape up to be an awesome resource, something like this has been a long time coming!
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but there does not seem to be an option to choose to be a Dark Elf/Drow on the "Choose a Race" screen.
For the beta test, only material from the SRD and Basic Rules is available. The other official material will be added at the final release. The price for that is still to be announced.
So what is the current thinking of volo's guide content being added into the race selection/bestiary? Apologies if this has been answered but I'd just expect that sort of stuff to be included alongside the Monster Manual, Player's Handbook and Dungeon Master's Guide.

I've noticed when making a completely random character with feats, you can end up with feats without meeting the prerequisites.
Futuaris nisi irrisius ridebus.
Edit: Ability scores should be first!

Drows are not available in Races for character creation. That's too bad, my Paladin of Acient Oath is a Drow. Cannot create his sheet ! :'(
This has some serious promise!
I created a random level 12 character just now that had a few minor issues:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/melinate/characters/27636
The random character is a Water Genasi multi-classed into Wizard, Warlock, Bard, and Cleric.
Still looks good for an early release, thanks!
