Seriously, this seems like a 101 feature to me, and I see threads discussing it dating all the way from 2017.
Part of D&D is picking up random objects that you see in the environment. We should be able to quickly add "pouch of goblin eyes" or "obsidian dust" or any other random thing to our inventory.
Can't even do it through the home brew item creator, as this is just for magical items.
You can add custom items to your character sheet. It's under manage equipment; from there you can make a custom item including name, weight, value, description and notes.
If you want to add a weapon, you can create a custom attack.

I stand corrected, not sure how I missed that. Thank you!
