Currently we can invite people to join a campaign by sending them a URL link. This works well for sharing remotely via text but doesn't work that well for sharing invites in person. It would be really convenient if there was an option to display a QR code in the campaign home page when I want to share the campaign with someone I'm talking to in person. For instance, if I'm DMing a one shot at an Adventurer's League meetup and I'd like to create a quick campaign so I can review my player's character sheets.
QR codes use a standardised process, so if you find an online QR code generator and put in your invite link, it'll create a code that can be read to redirect to your campaign.
I agree that maybe a built in generator would be useful, but I just wanted to direct you to a possible stop gap.
Thanks Davedamon, that is indeed what I did the last time this came up. But in the time it took me to do so we all couldn't help but wonder why it wasn't just a standard option in the site to begin with.
I just printed out on paper the url link to my campaign and handed it to my people. Even my guy with dyslexia was able to get access in a minute or less.
Oh and there are a number of free QR code generators out there
