This is my 3rd time trying this, so no more making this clean.
Regular ranger, level 10, you get ( Hide in Plain Sight Starting at 10th level, you can spend 1 minute creating camouflage for yourself. You must have access to fresh mud, dirt, Plants, soot, and other naturally occurring materials with which to create your camouflage. Once you are camouflaged in this way, you can try to hide by pressing yourself up against a solid surface, such as a tree or wall, that is at least as tall and wide as you are. You gain a +10 bonus to Dexterity (Stealth) checks as long as you remain there without moving or taking Actions. Once you move or take an action or a Reaction, you must camouflage yourself again to gain this benefit.)
A rather conditional ability, only really good for ambushes where you set up exactly once.
Tashas brings in this alternate feature for it. (NATURE'S VEIL 10th-level ranger feature, which replaces the Hide in Plain Sight feature You draw on the powers of nature to hide yourself from view briefly. As a bonus action, you can mag- ically become invisible, along with any equipment you are wearing or carrying, until the start of your next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all ex- pended uses when you finish a long rest.)
Excellent. Makes the ability a lot more useful. But... Come 14th level, you get (Vanish Starting at 14th level, you can use the Hide action as a Bonus Action on Your Turn. Also, you can't be tracked by nonmagical means, unless you choose to leave a trail)....
Which, for 14th level, I consider absolute rubbish. And theres no spell changes for 14th level, cause half caster. Thats literally the only thing.
Opinions?
Am I not considering hide appropriately? My view is from my spear/shield ranger who occasionally uses a long bow.
The only thing I can see this for is taking pot shots and hiding every turn.
But it also eats your BA, which ranger is built around pretty heavily.
TL:DR Tasha's gives me invisibility as a BA at level 10. What point do I really have for Vanish at level 14?
Nature's Veil is limited (by prof. bonus) to become invisible until the start of your next turn, so wouldn't help on the next turn, whereas Vanish would and you could try to Vanish every turn after attacking (as its also unlimited).

Vanish is an attempt to give the Ranger a poorer version of Cunning Action 12 levels too late. You Hide, then get Advantage on one attack.
Make no mistake, its a crap ability, but its use is distinct from Nature's Veil.
