Yeah, James Wyatt is said to be involved in another book as stated in WotC’s “Who we are and what we do” blog post on their official site.
I really want is a Draconomicon, but one of the three classic settings WotC mentioned that they have plans to release by the end of 2022 is also a big possibility (Van Richten’s was the first)

I bet it won't be a draconomicon or anything else we want.
Personally, I think a draconomicon would be dry. Dragons just aren't used enough to justify a whole 5e book around them.
A Dragonlance Setting is a possibility, but I'm not in love with the setting and I think it will be a loss.
My hopes are for a dragon-skewed SCAG reboot, but those chances are very slim. Still, it would be beyond good if it were true!
My bet, however, is that the UA and everything is skewed towards a big new Essentials / Starter Set. I mean, they've only really referenced one writer, so it would make more sense than not. It sounds a bit sucky, but... for people who have the money for a super expensive starter set, enjoy! You got the Massive Curse of Strahd Revamped with racial updates too, because us with less money don't deserve a world with no racism and with cool dragon content.

One, you can always revamp any content you want yourself. Homebrew is and has been a thing since the very first edition of D&D.
Two, one of the things that honestly D&D Beyond was good for was that when Curse got revamped? The edition I already bought got revamped. Some people see that as a negative, I didn't because I didn't want the old trappings, I wanted the newer books. So I only had to buy it once, and I got all the free updates.
Three, most books cost 50. If you know something is coming down the road, put away the tiny bit of money now. Strixhaven is in November, that's 10 bucks a month. Feywild is sooner, that's about 15 a month. Less on D&D Beyond if you wait for the promo codes that inevitably always come out. I'm not trying to say D&D isn't an expensive hobby when I just went out and spent over $100 on about 32 minis, but it is.
Personally, I think a draconomicon would be dry. Dragons just aren't used enough to justify a whole 5e book around them.
Three previous editions of D&D would beg to differ. 4e had a book each for chromatics and metallics. It's not just dragon statblocks, it's lore, adventures, campaign ideas, organizations, and related creatures. And based on the UA, character options as well.
My bet, however, is that the UA and everything is skewed towards a big new Essentials / Starter Set.
The two dragon-themed subclasses don't give off a starter/essentials vibe at all. Way too fiddly and thematically specific.
At any rate, I'm getting pretty hyped for the fall. If this is being released between the other two books, that's three within the span of 3 months!
Even though I would want one of the classic settings, I doubt they release a third book in that time space. So I too think another starter/essentials box is coming. Especially since they have focused so hard on very young potential customers with Harry Potter and fey circus, a kiddie adapted starter box makes sense. Good for them, sad for us whiny grognards :-)

I cant see a Dragonicon book but a Dragonlance setting book on the Dragon themed UA referring to the dragon ranger and monk UA.
Were gem dragons a thing in Dragonlance? I don't recall them being a thing. Having the sapphire out in the wild as well as gem dragonborn UA makes me think Draconomicon over Dragonlance setting book.

They weren't a thing in dragonlance, which is why I think a Draconomicon-type book is much more likely than Dragonlance.
The prospect of getting some stats for the gem dragons would be interesting.
Let's see...
We also may receive some interesting lore regarding the "arrangement" between Vlaakith & Tiamat...the one where Tiamat basically "loans out" red dragons for the githyanki to use as mounts.
(this is presuming some kind of tie-in to "Baldur's Gate 3" hype, which would be so shrewd, it couldn't possibly be true)
And given the introduction of the "Way of the Ascendant Dragon" monks; we may also be looking at a new kind of dragon cult to explore.
Likewise, the Drakewarden Ranger may provide a lore context for a type of character who raises drakes into dragons.
This is, of course, speculation.
Not knowing much about a "Draconomicon"; I must say I find the prospect intriguing.

Dragonlance is happening. It's all but a given. Doesn't mean it'll happen this year though, especially since WotC already released a (classic) setting book. A Draconomicon is a pretty good bet in any case, both previous WotC editions had one (4E more than one, even) and they sold well.

I think Strahd revamped is used with a bit of confusion. The corrected Strahd (curious whether it's actually available through physical retail, I got the physical Volo's book I believe a couple of years after the correction but my print copy was 'old school' ... WotC never pulped the 'bad' versions and a lot are probably in retailers and distributors still) is sometimes talked of as Strahd revamped because of the joke. But there's also Strahd Revamped, a boxed set retailing for $100 in a prestige format not as high level but definitely taking lessons learned from Beedle and Grimm.
I don't know about an "essentials" but Yamanji may be onto something when talking about pricier prestige type boxed sets. I think the Strahd Revamped boxed sets performance was probably telling and WotC may try other products besides hard covers. I think the tweets folks are using to say a third book is coming actually uses the term "product" not "book." I think that might be telling.

What I meant was that the Revamped version was definitely updated, while us poor cheap souls could have buy any version of the book.

They referred to everything as "book", but yes I did mean a Strahd-style Revamped or Starter Set for longterm players book box. Something hugely expensive.
So I think dragonlance WAS happening, and then the lawsuit killed it. So they went into another dragon themed direction. We'll see. I don't really care any way, I never got into the setting but I know a lot of people would be much happier with a lore expansion on an existing D&D setting rather than generic setting 2.0.
I would love to see a Draconomicon ala Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. I could easily see a whole book devoted to them. Dragons are perhaps the most iconic creatures in D&D. It says so in the name of the game. I'd love to see the lore about them gathered in one place, the varieties put together and standardized so their abilities matched. I'd like to see the Gem Dragons with updated Psionic powers perhaps, maybe some other Faerie Dragon variants, or perhaps water Dragons, as I find the Dragon Turtle unsatisfying. I'd like to see their relation to Dragonborn and Kobolds better explained, and maybe they could tell me why Dragons all have Darkvision, Kobolds do, but Dragonborn do not. I'd enjoy seeing a bit more about their relationship with Sorcerers as well, and maybe the expanded spell list that people cry for.
Maybe they could look into the ecology of Dragons. I've always kind of wondered how a Gargantuan Ancient Dragon keeps itself fed. It doesn't seem like a whole herd of cows would do it. A bestiary with some of the things Dragons consider tasty and that Adventurers might have to fight their way through would be cool.
If they ever do Dragonlance, a Draconomicon would be a prerequisite. I don't do setting specific books at all, but a Draconomicon? I'd buy that.
You not only played as dragons but also as those humanoids trusted by them or bonded with them. It's not so much about playing a dragon, which for sure is dope, but more about the dragon themed content you could create around the dragons even without introduction of playable dragons.
So in a setting leaning on CoW maybe you would have them in the role as patrons or leaders with a world filled with enemies outside and scheming inside? 🤔
I am pretty sure it's not CoW though, as I don't think it was a real success back in the day. Rather an oddity like chronomancers. A Draconomicon would be handy ngl.
That being said, we have been promised three settings books for 2021, and although a Draconomicon would be nice, it's not a setting book (and in any case, there are already tons of draconomicons from the past that you can get inspiration from). I'm pretty much convinced that it's going to be Dragonlance, which is a bit of a shame as I don't really like the setting, it was interesting during the War of the Lance with the surprises (at least for those like me who were prepared to slog through really uninteresting and endless dungeons to get to the nice bits), but apart from this, I find it pretty bland.
I think it's going to be more of a "Fizban's Guide to Dragons" which will touch on the Dragonlance setting, but also discuss dragonkind across the multiverse. Gem dragonborn do not make sense on Krynn and I want to believe that the sapphire dragon is going to get some company.

Apparently, it's releasing between Witchlight and Strixhaven.
