I downloaded Beyond20 today. It took about 8 seconds to download, 3 minutes to read the options and choose what I wanted, and the only thing I want is for my nice sparkly D&D Beyond dice sets to roll in Roll20.
Also I want sound effects when I roll dice in D&D Beyond (slashing damage = wwsshhhhing, dragon fire roar etc) but I expect we'll get there one day.
I do like Above VTT, super quick to setup, however I would like them to go more fully featured VTT. It needs more I feel like to feel like an official one instead of just a chrome extension. I know it's not necessary, but lighting and walls are super easy to set in Foundry and last I checked Above VTT guys don't think their ever gonna do that, as Above VTT is just planned to be a super simple one. Which isn't a bad thing, just for an official partnership I feel like I want more.
Hi, I'm curious to know if there is a chance for this or would the partnership with WofC prohibit it. For example, I'm thinking only for TaleSpire which is a virtual tabletop simulator that is currently in early access on steam and isn't affiliated with any publisher yet. The creators have been very open about working with 3rd parties and DnDBeyond always has gotten a lot of requests for their own Virtual Tabletop, so my shower thought is if it's possible for DnDBeyond to work with them.
This is what the TalesSpire creators said in their FAQ:
What do you fellow D&D Beyond users think about this.
Above VTT is a free chrome plugin that has full DnD beyond intergration.

For me, this isn’t a computer game, end of the day in person We are perfectly happy sketching out a map on a whiteboard or graph paper so for a VTT why is dynamic lighting, intricate effects important, it doesn’t help run the combat. For me the most important things are fog of war, ease of use and the ability to integrate anything o have paid for on DnD beyond. I don’t even need full automation of dice rolls, most of my remote players roll there own physical dice anyway.
each to there own but a free no frills VTT that is easy to stick a map on (which above VTT is) is more important. The only thing that would make it better for me is a mobile version so the 3 people I play with who dial in on a mobile phone can see it, but for now every session I have a designated map maker who grabs screenshots of the combat maps (I only use a VTT for combat) and posts them up to discord.
