Something like this is sometimes considered a half feat, meaning that you might add +1 to STR or DEX for example as well as the other abilities of the feat.
Grappling is kind of a strange mechanic. An attacker uses their attack or one of their multi/extra attacks to attempt a grapple while the target gets a check more like a saving throw. In the end, its Athletics to try to grapple and Athletics or Acrobatics to resist a grapple. Breaking a Grapple is usually an action on the part of the grappled creature involving opposed rolls of Athletics or Acrobatics against the grapplers Athletics who now uses no action to maintain the grapple, they get the free ability check this time around
If you are still with me up to this point, I would say make the feat say something like this:
1) To break a Grapple, you may deliver a painful shin kick to the grappler. This takes the Attack action but, can just be one of your extra attacks if you have this feature. This special attack follows the standard rules for making attacks and also for strikes made as Unarmed combat. If this attack hits, regardless of damage dealt, it imposes disadvantage on the grappler's check to maintain the grapple, the target of the grapple is allowed an Athletics or Acrobatics check as part of this special action.
2) If the target succeeds on breaking the grapple by 10 or more points, the grappler is knocked prone when the grapple is broken.
3) If your Unarmed Strike scores a critical hit AND the grappler was knocked prone, you can make one melee weapon attack as a bonus action.
yes i agree but it can be used before a grapple. like i put can be used to disengage ..... it has multiple uses but i do like what you said about the grapple part
Rather than "kick to shin" which seems to specific just call it "dirty fighting" or "unsportsmanlike fighting" or "cheap shot." Then player and DM can narrate a whole litany of shots one could easily construe having the effects you're looking for.
Otherwise, I mean as house rules these are I guess fine; but I think in general 5e is a little avoidant of rule flows like "10 point difference for special effect" (proning) and "critical + special effect = bonus action attack" but if your table doesn't mind getting bogged into the feat holders special moves, it looks like it works.

Yes, but you're taking one very specific maneuver and making a whole feat out of it. The really criticism is that it's too specific and should be generalized to range of tactics. Look at the combat options feats give you, none of them are as "one move specific" as this. Mechanically, what you're describing does not need to be assigned to one particular movement. I mean if I wanted to completely invalidate the proposal I could just say you're basically talking narration, so why not simply narrate a shove action as a kick to the shin, then the need for your special is absorbed by the rules (again since the check for a difference of 10 or more, and if you rolled a 20 more bonus seems to rub against 5e mechanics in a scratchy vinyl way)?

I agree about the point spread mechanic. I don't know of any actual rules in the game that use it for result determination but, we use it quite a bit for table rules/DMing. The bonus attack after a critical hit is almost straight out of the GWM feat.
On your turn, when you score a critical hit with a melee weapon or reduce a creature to 0 hit points with one, you can make one melee weapon attack as a bonus action.

well it would not be dirty fighting lots of unarmed combat styles around the world use it
