Just a shower thought: I know that making clones of deceased characters, isn't well received at most tables. BUT. Do you think there could be an interesting way to create a character, that is a reincarnation of a dead character? For example: Joe the human wizard, who died a gruesome dead. His soul, through some strange magic, get's transferred into this dying Eladrin in the Feywild. Or maybe a creature in the Feywild is creating a synthetic being and catches parting souls to transfer into his creations. Joe, in his new body, lives a pretty ordinary life in the Feywild, with little to no memories of his former life. But one day, he starts remembering things. Things about his other life, about the friends he once had. He decides to search for this friends. He travels to the material plane. and due to the time passing differently in the Feywild, he catches up with his old party, merely a week after his death. He isn't the same person anymore, of course. But fragments of memories return to him, and of his old personality shines trough.
What do you think about such a character concept? I feel, like it maybe is a bit to much of a "main character" backstory.
There is a spell reincarnate, the table of what a character reincarnates into can be house ruled to reflect a given games racial/lineage make up as they see fit.
You're also describing what could easily be accommodated as a character with the Reborn gothic lineage.
So you're shower thought is pretty inline with existing rules. Clone is a thing too in the rules. Not sure why you're assuming these are "out there" concepts.

Thats pretty much the same concept on Reborn Leneage from Van Richtens Guide to Ravenloft.
If it's possible to you to make it happens, well, the DM at your table can answer it better than anyone else here. But if you want a basis point on sources, I would say that these one I've mention is the better until now and if your DM allow it at your table it would works perfectly.

I think it mention that its "out there" concept since the character may be already died and the clone spells works only on living creatures. But I may be wrong tough

Maybe. I think they're saying having a character die and coming back with the exact same character with a "2" after the name is frowned on at tables, unless it's Paranoia in which case I think it's RAW.

A naturally reincarnated being might have a break from the mortal loop before returning...
