Sneaky little hobbitses... I mean halflings. I usually play them to add a little levity to a party, or perhaps I was always going to add levity and halflings are a good agent for that.
Hobgoblin, Human, Goblin are the top 3 I put in for all the WotC surveys. I LOVE the goblinoids! They just speak to me and I don't know why. :) The whole "The red ones are the smart, angry ones. The brown ones are the big, lazy, dumb, angry ones. The green ones are the small, fast, angry ones." dynamic they have is great. Having them mix and mingle is also a thing I like doing with my gobbos.
Humans, obviously, because humans are great. They are the swiss army knife of the fantasy world, the "you want some f*ck?" race. They can do anything just by pure gumption when there's a goliath/elf/aaracockra/whatever that could do what they do without even breaking a sweat. It's a bit of an underdog story, even if they almost always have all the continent-spanning empires. xP Also, the free feat is great! ;P That's half the reason for picking them lol, as well as another skill prof.
My personal favorite is not listed, probably because it is a "lineage" rather than race, but Reborn is my go-to. Not needing substance and having empty pockets is just absolutely amazing for me.
From those listed, Fairy has treated me well with their wings and spellcasting, and I have been liking Orcs as of late for my martial characters. Still pretty tough to choose those over Reborn though.
I like elves, specifically high elves, and I like to play them with varying degrees of better-than-thou attitude, often even towards other elves and high elves. Who can better lead lesser races than elves? Who can better lead elves than high elves? Who can better lead high elves than me?
Elves are probably my favorite for their lore and the amount of subraces there are (although I also just like putting pointy ears on nearly anything fantasy related).
Dwarves, hands down. A veritable bounty of stereotypes and lore to play with, which provide all the more satisfaction when they can put their grudges and drinks and accents aside to do great deeds. Or perhaps they use them to perform great deeds.

Zero is the most important number in D&D: Session Zero sets the boundaries and the tone; Rule Zero dictates the Dungeon Master (DM) is the final arbiter; and Zero D&D is better than Bad D&D.

If I had to just pick one it would be Dragonborns.
However, I’m also a big fan of Yuan-to, Kobolds, Kenku, Tortles, Lizardfolk, and Thri-kreen (which aren’t on the list but I’m putting here anyways). I love my monstrous races.

I love humans for their variety, and their stat bonuses, but my favorite races for when I am not min-maxing (admittedly, a rare occurrence) are gnomes and halflings. I like the small guys.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
Gotta love them dwarves. I just made a new character today for a one shot and made him a dwarf when I realized I made a promise that my next character wouldn't be a dwarf since I always play them...
Halflings. Physically, they're mostly just like Humans but short. That's the #1 point for me. I don't know why. (Gnomes and Goblins can be shorter, but they're also less like Humans.)
Halfling Luck is a nice perk, too—like an at-will Lucky feat. Stout Halflings' resistance and advantage against Poison is nice, too. Some DMs put poison everywhere. Stout Halflings advantage against being Frightened is funny as heck when a little person is staring down some hideous behemoth which sent everyone else fleeing.
Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
What is your favorite Race to play and why?
I like Tieflings and it is mostly an aesthetic choice. I just love the way they look.

Voted aasimar, but actually prefer eladrin for their RP potential and walking mood ring coloration.

Call me a power gamer but I love Variant Human for the access to a feat lvl 1.
Genasi. I love elemental themes so they're perfect for me thematically! Pity that mechanically they're pretty... meh. Especially air and earth genasi.
Just got to keep praying that the elemental sorcerers make it in one day. So salty that those got axed.
