I do however apricate yet another release coming to DnDBeyond later than the physical version, unless you buy the bundle that is!
I for one can't wait until buying the digital only versions of the newest releases is always the least time efficient way to pre-order the latest material!
Where do you get that??? It won't be available physically until December 6, bundle or not. If you get the bundle, you get the digital version on November 22. So your options are:
Buy bundle: Get digital Nov 22, physical Dec 6
Buy digital only: Get it Dec 6
Buy physical only: Get it Dec 6
Buy both separately: Get both Dec 6
In none of these scenarios are you getting the digital any later than the physical.
Maybe in this particular scenario you are correct on a technicality, but it still doesn't feel great as a consumer that people who buy the bundle get access to the same exact content 2 weeks early, there is no technical reason why all the digital books couldn't unlock on the 22nd and this is clearly purely to drive bundle sales.
However MotM and the new starter set were/are available in a physical edition in a bundle only form and as a timed exclusive in a store that isn't even located in every country before the digital versions.
It is annoying and a trend I don't appreciate, but I don't run their business nor am I condemning them.
This was just the thing that I don't like about the topic at hand.
For me, as someone who has of the Legendary Bundle, it is a shame that us owners don't even get a penny off. I'm fully aware that'll be a decision made by Wizards, but I would've personally been far more inclined to buy the physical book straight from this store. Ah well! Probably still buying it anyway ;)
I mean like others have said this is all in test phase so let’s wait and see what this scales up to in the future.
I was so excited for the bundle and then I read the small print. Shipping for Canada is almost 43 USD even for the basic book. That's insane, for that price it really is cheaper to just buy both separately.
This is just a test phase, I imagine they want to gauge interest, success of implementation work out what first and doesn’t work, building international distribution into that as well feels like a stretch destined to fail it on attempt one. Let’s let them get this working in one country before they roll it out world wide.

Of course it is to drive bundle sales. This is a test to see how successful sales and distribution will be. If you don't want to buy the bundle then buckle up butter cup and wait till the December 6th release date. Personally I spent nearly bought the Deluxe Bundle and have no problem waiting for the release date of Nov 22nd along with everyone who bought the book and digital bundle.

Waiting until the 6th isn't the real issue I'm having, it is the slowly growing trend that may lead to every new book having a 2 week early access for every digital/physical bundle from the WotC store and nowhere else, and more content as timed exclusives in select stores and as part of physical bundles and unavailable as a separate purchase for a time like MotM.
I am not throwing my toys out of the pram being all woe is me about this, it could be worse and my concerns may end up unfounded but I am just voicing my annoyance with the trend that certain products aren't available to me for an arbitrary amount of time because I don't live in the USA or I don't want the physical book along with the digital version.
These things make sense from a business PoV so I don't condem WotC for doing it, and even if this 2 week early access model does become the new standard and more things are timed exclusives to certain stores and bundles these things aren't the end of the world so long as I can get them eventually they just annoy me as a consumer and dampen my excitement for the newest releases somewhat.
All that said I do hope you and anyone else who purchased a bundle enjoy them and they give you many hours of fun at your table.
To be honest, I agree. The digital is evident ready for November and they're willing to release it in November...so why not just release it in November for everyone? It doesn't cost WotC anything more...forgive me for being cynical, but it just seems they're going out of their way to punish customers in order to wring a little extra profit. You're not paying to get something early, you're paying to not get delayed in your access to what you've already paid for.

Folks have been complaining about the pricing of the bundle lacking any incentive to buy the bundle. The early access to digital release is the incentive. It's that simple. Does it manipulate people with FOMO among the player base, absolutely, but as far as spoilage goes, I can't think of a single D&D product released over the past 5 years that didn't have practically a page by page walk through by one of the usual D&D social media suspects. I also have never implemented anything in a new book immediately upon release, and really wonder about those games that rewrite their worlds on a book's release day to accommodate it. So I just don't see the complaints in this regard really having a lot of standing.

Usually you can get the physical books on Amazon for $29-$35. Add in the estimated digital cost of $29 and we are at about $58-$64 (or more accurately $61-$66 after Tax).
The pphysical book portion of the Bundle through Wizards/DNDBeyond is taxed and then you pay shipping. So expect it to be about $78 total in the US/California. So really, in an ideal world, where you can score a book on Amazon for $29-35, you would save yourself about $12.00.
The complaints are because most of the fan base wanted a much cheaper digital portion, especially when they have already purchased the physical book. Also, the idea that once the online content is created, the overhead is limited to the bandwidth charge... it feels like a money grab. I know they will charge for minis in the future for their digital tabletop platform, but honestly, if they wanted to make this bundle worth it- then include digital minis with the bundle for this price. Make it so you get the NPCs that are in the game module (or important creatures/places for sourcebooks) included for use immediately within the digital toolset. My 2 coppers worth.

They're literally making a product worse for people in order to get more money out of people. Is that it world ending? No, but it shows the anticonsumer side of WotC (again). If you can't see what the complaints are about...then it's because you don't care that companies are intentionally pushing worse product, not because it they're invalid.

Ok, how is giving folks with massive FOMO the opportunity to buy the book and DDB version together in a bundle that also gives them the ability to say "first" making the product worse? It's an incentive. You are not incentivized. I am not incentivized, though the Deluxe bundle is something to consider from my chair. The basic bundle doesn't appeal to many, but it also appeals to many. The lesson WotC will take from this experiment is not on this message board. It'll be taken from the data gathered upon product release and through the holidays.
I think I recognize D&D as probably the most "Big Bizness" of TTRPG lines, I just don't find it personally offensive. As another poster put it earlier, it seems a lot of folks claiming insult and injury have never actually been insulted or injured to any degree beyond fan sensitivities.
Just imho, but having Hasboro and WoTC come to us asking for play-testing and providing input for something like two years before the products are finalized, and all during a giant push of this IP with new directions, a major movie, tie-ins, etc., etc., seems much more like a hug than a slap to me, man.
They are a corporation, after all. They could have just done the usual demographic research and put out products based on how well they sell to general consumers. Instead, we get a process we can participate in. And hey, who doesn't want to hug Chris Perkins? ;p
Ok, how is giving folks with massive FOMO the opportunity to buy the book and DDB version together in a bundle that also gives them the ability to say "first" making the product worse?
Nice reframing of "you've paid for this product, it's ready to use, it would cost nothing to give this product to you now, but we're going to withhold this product for a period unless you go for another bundle and give us extra money".

Code for: "I don't understand why a company intentionally delaying a product for no other reason than to pressure people to spend money on products they don't actually want in order to get what they've already paid for is wrong, therefore the problem is that everyone else are snowflakes, not that maybe a company shouldn't be going out of their way to delay delivery of paid for goods".
Feel free to get on your high horse and pretend everyone who disagrees with you is a snowflake, but I'll call out being anticonsumer for what it is - just as I highlight instances where companies are being proconsumer and being really reasonable, like DDB allowing customers to buy products piecemeal without losing savings. Withholding paid-for goods in an attempt to persuade customers to pay for other goods is anticonsumer.

So you're simply saying "early access" is "anti consumer". That's fine. FWIW, I never thought you to be a "snowflake" or whatever your own persecution complex seems to be projecting on my questioning or disagreeing with your thinking. A two week early access incentive isn't "anti-consumer" in my book. You have a right to buy into or not buy into the incentive. And again, I don't see how some folks buying into the incentive in any way diminishes your experience of the same product, Anti-consumer assumes some injury is done, so do tell me how you're injured by other consumers having the opportunity to buy in early.
Further FWIW, I'm not on a high horse, I'm in a comfortable chair drinking coffee, apparently typing opposite someone riding a blindly charging and bucking bronco...
Now noting both the regular and deluxe bundle are being listed as "limited stock". Kinda curious what sorta mushroom cloud will project from this thread when that limited stock goes to "sold out."

If you don't think that's the case, don't say it. Pretty simple, really. No persecution complex here.

Buying GalCiv IV while it's in beta and getting access to the game straight away (albeit in an obviously unfiinished state is "early access". but its not the issue, if you buy something with the full knowledge you have to wait, and know you can get it faster by paying more, that's not an issue, that's just being frugal with your money, and its not wrong for a company to incentivize getting it quicker, its how they make money and pay their employees wages, by selling shit and thinking of ways to incentivize people to pay more.
also this has really devolved into an insult match, can yall stop taking potshots at each other please?

but its not the issue, if you buy something with the full knowledge you have to wait, and know you can get it faster by paying more, that's not an issue, that's just being frugal with your money, and its not wrong for a company to incentivize getting it quicker, its how they make money and pay their employees wages, by selling shit and thinking of ways to incentivize people to pay more.
also this has really devolved into an insult match, can yall stop taking potshots at each other please?
No.
