Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
A Gnome named Gnorm was a movie with a gnome being witness to and helping solve a crime (and insisted that his name is pronounced G-norm and that Gnome is pronounced G-nome).

hint there are hundreds. As for who's who in them hard to say. I know that Gnomes are often side characters. But If you are willing to take the time, you can read the premise of the books online, it might take weeks, but I'm sure there is one. Oh BTW, the first book listed is by Gary Gygax and it has a human hunting a gnomes treasure hoard. So don't let the title confuse, it's also incomplete. :/
Among the extensive list of DnD novels, are there any with gnome heroes?
Gnomeo and Juliet
Gnome Alone (I don't think it's a novel, but it is the name of a group's D&D campaignette.)

True Gnomes always pronounce the G in words. Like Gnu and Gnostic.

Edit: Found one: https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Into_the_Void
Edit2: well read it closer, gnomes feature heavily, but it's about a human on a space journey.
Edit3: Link about the full series, I really wish it was aviable on kindle right now, because it actually sounds good.

Here's a D&D Gnomre heroe and his minion Francis ☺
More seriously though, there's a deep gnome heroe named Belwar Dissengulp who befriended Drizzt Do'Urden that i know.
That video, good times, one of the best things in 4th edition were those videos. My favorite was the Ithilid
Jobminion/food/desert interview.
