I am not proposing this idea to replace any stat with any other but as a way to finally use both strength and dex in combat. You can simply apply this idea across all weapons.
It would make dumping one or the other stat much harder for any class that wants to be a fighter type.
You can't really force some classes to be dependent on multiple attributes for their core abilities while leaving other classes requiring only a single attribute.

Are you suggesting that Rangers and Paladins should be able to cast spells with Str or Dex? Or that Bladesingers should be able to attack with Int?
Squiggit was replying to Pantagruel666 by pointing out to them that we already do have some classes (like rangers and paladins) that have to use multiple ability scores to do things, while others (like wizards and sorcerers) can get away with focusing on just one ability score.
That’s a backwards step, it’s how things were in earlier versions and in Pathfinder. It really craps on finesse builds like rogues. There were ways around it and magical weapon properties that allowed you to use dex for damage but it still handicapped them. I for one like having the option and don’t think it should be a blanket change. There’s no reason you can’t change it in your personal games and no reason to force everyone to ‘play your way’ just because you don’t like it.
I'd say it would be less of a problem with rogues who get a significant amount of their damage from the extra sneak attack dice instead of flat bonuses. However, I think you are correct that it would heavily crap on any other dexterity-based martial builds, who get far more of their damage from multiple attacks and multiple additions of the flat bonuses (as well as strength-based builds, that would be much worse at hitting). It would certainly nerf all martials, forcing even fighters to become MAD and the detriment would become more and more the higher the level and the greater the number of attacks. Since it is often considered the case that martials already tend to lag behind spellcasters as levels get higher, this problem would be exacerbated.

Luck is part of the game.
Thats why we roll dice.

No this only applies to weapons. Not spells.
Dex to hit, strength to damage.
How hard is that to understand?
