Through years of using the app and speaking with many others a simple piece of code to assist with resource management would go a long way.
Things such as: - A pop up for automatically removing rations from the players inventory after a long rest. - Arrows automatically being removed from the inventory slots after using the attack button on a bow.
Players having to go into their inventory every time to remove one item can really slow the game down for those people who wish to track resources.
Just make it optional. Some games don't track them. But yeah, I'd have thought this woukd be a standard feature.

In our games, our ranged party members are presumed to recover all missiles spent, that hit targets and DM doesn't RP break (which we do at times) At the end of the fight we determine 2 missed and 1 broke, so remove 3 arrows from your count. Sometimes none are lost, so we don't play TOO heavily on the ammo, but we do account for it. Rations, we cycle through, each person removes 4 rations at breakfast if due. If you're playing more minute detailed rules where every arrow fired is spent, then automating it might be helpful, I agree.

Talk to your Players.Talk to your DM. If more people used this advice, there would be 24.74% fewer threads on Tactics, Rules and DM discussions.

Or you could know how many arrows you have. Look at your character sheet at the start of each session and write down your number of arrows, then keep a running tally throughout the game (it takes seconds to make a gate mark), and alter your inventory between sessions.
Though if you are part of a group that gets this detailed, expect the DM to also keep a count so they can check your inventory before each session.

Code is never simple.
Here you have some automation that you would like.
Should the automation for ammunition implement the (optional?) rule that you get back half your ammunition after the fight?
Others might not want that automation - so an option to disable it must be provided.
You've provided two things to automate, some players might want only one of those two options to be automated - so that two options that need to be added to allow each player to set which things to automate.
A DM might want to enforce these rules in their campaign - or maybe enforce only one of these things in their campaign. This requires one or more campaign-level options to allow the DM to control which options are enforced in their campaign.
The rations option would be pretty good. It could be added under the management tab and placed under the hit point/spell slot recovery button. But........
What if you do not have any rations? What penalty would you take? Less hit point recovery or even none at all?
How would you handle magical food created each day? What about food created or provided by a different character?
What about finding food?
What about water? An even more important resource than food.
As for ammunition. Pretty much all the same problems.
Do you automatically recover half of your ammo? What if your in a running fight and can not spend the time to gather them? Will the computer remember your spent ammo so you can automatically recover half?
What about sling ammo? Rocks are free.
I do like the idea though.
As for managing equipment like arrows I just keep track until after the fight try to recover what is possible and then adjust my inventory. It takes longer for the DM to tell me how many I get back then actually adjusting it in the program.
In the campaign I am currently running I simply deduct a sum of gold from the characters whenever they reach a suitable settlement for things like ammo, supplies, rations, etc. I work on the assumption that the PCs aren't complete idiots and would automatically stock up on the essentials needed for their adventures. And, TBH, keeping track of such minutiae seems pointless.
The only exceptions to this would be magic ammo/items/food and they do keep track of these.

But you can find half the arrows used in each fight, so you'd also need to track these being recovered.
