If you feel inclined to make backups of your characters (for whatever reason), it is fairly straightforward to Export them into PDF format. Just open your character sheet, then click on the character icon to open the side menu, and at the bottom of that menu is the Export to PDF option.
Don't lose your characters even if you go offline.... or, otherwise lose access to dndbeyond site for some reason.

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
I am new to this site, so maybe I missed the info somewhere else. But this is a feature I have used, but have found it to be glitchy. Downloads not saving correctly after changes have been made, and certainly not displaying correctly or all the information contained in a section. I have a monk, and there is a lot of information in the actions box, but only a small portion of it displays. I am losing my bonus action and reaction information. I tried copying and pasting it to the notes section, but there is very little formatting allowed in that section and things are not displaying correctly. Is there a way to customize the character sheet layout? Have the action box larger, and or display the information correctly?
Export to PDF is a legacy function from the website's early days. The DDB character sheet has expanded in functionality, the export function has not and fundamentally cannot keep up. You will always lose data and functionality when exporting to PDF. It can serve as an imperfect, unmodifiable static backup of a given character, but it really can't replace the live sheet. I recommend backing up important information about your character in manual text documents, so you don't lose your notes or other hard-to-replace information should something regrettable occur.
Yeah, I think there’s too many tabs and scrolling portions for it to be easy to export. That said, using the print browser command and telling it to save as PDF when you print should help quickly capture a lot of information
I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment here - when I'm done with a character (such as when they die) I export them to pdf to save in my archive, but it takes so long to fix the cropped information that could probably do it quicker by copy pasting into a blank sheet.

Playing high charisma characters with no real life charisma - the only fantasy that still eludes me.
How does one do this via phone? The download pdf option opens up a temporary tab showing the pdf but does not actually create a permanent pdf file on my phone. I do not want to have to rely on screenshots.
I export to PDF and save the file. I then print anything from there.
I never lose information but it can get a little paper heavy when printing. if you do not watch it you could be printing a few essentially blank sheets.

I do not have any trouble with it at all.
