Does anyone have any recommendations for modules from previous editions? There are the greatest hits like Sunless Citadel and Tomb of Horrors that are in TotYP but I was wondering if anyone had some really great love for old modules that they would recommend :)
Keep on the Borderlands is always a fine addition.

In the Light, we gather to empower our brother. In its grace, he will be made anew. In its power, he shall educate the masses. In its strength, he shall combat the shadow. And, in its wisdom, he shall lead his brethren to the eternal rewards of paradise.
That's the old intro module right? :) I keep hearing about it, why's it so popular?
This iconic module B2 was one of the first adventures that people played. It was included in the Basic Rules Red Box set along with a set of yellow dice you had to use a crayon to color in LOL!
Seriously it was a great started adventure with a keep for a home base and the caves of chaos to explore and die in. It's been a few decades and I can remember details about it.
Another of my favorites from that era was X2 The isle of dread. Your own Jurassic adventure. You needed the blue box expert rules for this one.
Ah good times and memories.

Shackled City was freaking SWEET! A very good 1-20 adventure set in the city of Cauldron. (A dormant volcano.) It starts off well enough but before you know it takes off on saving the entire world. There are beholders, lost gnome cities, pyroclastic dragons and demon lords. Very awesome module!

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

I have never heard about the crayon thing that's freaking awesome :D
I am currently reading back and forth between it and The Curse of Strahd. I just picked up TCoS yesterday, and so far I am LOVING it! If my understanding is correct, however, TCoS contains pretty much everything in Ravenloft, but updated and expanded for 5E. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken.
Having said that, I have not had the opportunity to play through either of these.
This thread got me thinking so last night I went to the storage closet of Doom and began searching through a few decades of games stuff. I found a few I remember as soon as I saw the cover as gems that will stay our and converted into 5e projects.
I1 Dwellers of the Forbidden City
L1 The Secret of Bone Hill
And of course this gem from the UK U1 The Sinister Secret of the Saltmarsh

I actually saw that they played a 5E keep on the borderlands at GaryCon the other night. I wonder if it will be an AL module this season
Ok, Now you're just to make me jealous. One of these years I'm going to attend this event. I would have loved to see that being played. Awesome
Sadly I'm in the same boat as you XD I've never been to GaryCon I just saw a picture and the schedule haha
As a Paraguayan, I am seething with jealousy at people that go to Gencon and Garycon. I might go to Gencon50 but it's unlikely. True dungeon anyone? 8)

I confess I'm not a fan of Tomb of Horrors, or trap-heavy dungeons, I'd rather more open adventures than Dungeon-based anyway, but ToH was trap after trap after trap
3rd Party, but the Witchfire Trilogy is probably the best campaign I did (back when Privateer Press' Iron Kingdoms was just a set of D&D 3E adventures, before Warmachine came out. If you fancy even more conversion, the Warhammer RPG main campaign was good.
Rappan Athuk is great, but deadly. Past that I would actually recommend Rise of the Runelords from Paizo, but converted to 5e. It's not terribly hard to do...
If your characters are in the desert I cannot recommend the Desert of Desolation modules enough. Get them through a Tomb, some underground cities and then to Martek's castle/citadel.
It has a great moment (apparently added later) when the players release the BBEG. Loads of fun to DM.
Easily could recommend B4 the Lost City, Basic Edition D&D module from the '80s, good little module that you can keep it going for a long time and has a sandboxy type feel to it. Crazy societies in the sand. Can feel very Indiana Jones like. Check it out https://goo.gl/FLrQdB

N1 It is best if the players have a chance to visit the village a couple of times before you spring this adventure on. Perhaps on the way to a smaller adventure. It is a tough adventure and make sure your party isn't weak. Also good idea to have a couple of NPCs or henchmen along. so the DM can kidnap a party member.
R7 I have played this half a dozen times and the players always really like it. It is a little hokey. It can take a little work on the DMs part to fit it into your campaign.
.TOEE Do you have a couple years free to get together with your friends and try this classic. Worth the time investment, IMHO.

Had a blast running my group through this adventure.
A must for any collection.
I was just coming in to suggest Red hand of Doom. By far one of my most favorite and memorable runs.
