Advance warning for Curse of Strahd spoilers if you read on.
Our 3-man party became 2 during the fight in the Wachter cellar. The DM and I have discussed options for recovering my character but they are likely sessions away, so we were talking about introducing a new character and he suggested that I could convert Stella Wachter, the the party are literally outside her door. I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or sources that I (as a player) could read without spoiling parts of the campaign, that would give me more info or concept of what Stella would know.
All I've seen so far are the snippets from the Wachter house in the source book, and am running with that. I appreciate it is mostly a player / DM discussion, but options are good, and this is the first time either of us have played CoS, so cautious of 'gotchas'.
Stella doesn't know anything important about her family and has no useful connections.
That would actually make her kind of perfect for becoming a PC

Yeah, it's not bad, I'm just answering his question with that bit. There are some other complications with Stella that make her a strange choice, but I'm assuming the DM will homebrew all of that away.

Why didn't the DM just have you control Ireena in the meantime? She's presumably already with you and has some combat prowess.

Thanks both. Ireena was left with the Baron and there's no immediate reason for the party to return there.
We will indeed be doing some homebrew around her, just good to know she's a minor npc.
