It is a savings, given an average price of 30 bucks (USD) a book times 50 books (1500 USD total). It is offered normally for 1038 (USD), so it is essentially about 30% off (and some of the books cost more than 30 dollars US).
Given that, it is unlikely it ever goes on sale.

It used to go on sale/discounts could be applied. You also get discounts on future purchases when new content is released 15% and if I remember correctly this discount usually stacks with sales on the site too.
As kayakingpoodle said, it's 15% discount versus buying them separately, and it's a permanent discount future digital-only purchases. However, consider whether you'd actually use all the materials - my suspicion is that except in rare situations, one wouldn't use 85% of the stuff and so it'd cost more to buy the bundle than just buying it as you need it.
Note: The average price of a book on DDB is significantly less than $30. There are a couple of books that cost more (Spelljammer and Tal'Dorei come to mind), but there are several that cost less than $30, eg the charity ones that are like $5. The average is about $25, or $21 via the Legendary Bundle.

Thanks for the answers, everyone! I like having everything of everything, but a 1000 dollars is quite an investment. I suppose I'll keep it in mind, but I'd also like to see what will happen once the 2024 books start coming out.

When I first started D&D, bundles used to go on sale every couple of months. After a while though, that stopped, but bundles have still consistently been on sale during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
If you plan to get everything as cheaply as possible, I recommend waiting for the holiday sales. If you want the pre-order bonuses too, then just get the pre-order books now, and then get the rest of the bundle during the holidays. If I remember correctly, Thanksgiving got better sales than Christmas.
The bundle price should be reduced by any previous purchases, but increases with any new releases (that's how it worked when I was making my decision). It has increased since I purchased it, but I have got some pretty good buys with discounts too.

If it's just a timesaver, does it ever go on sale?
