I added a poll, because if there is a lot of support, there is more likelihood of attention being given.
The game does well when items are carried by the character, even adding in encumbrance from backpack, satchels, pouches and their contents. However you do not carry your horse or wagon, but instead use them to carry things for you (including yourself and your carried items). I am requesting that the developers figure out a better way to implement encumbrance calculations for mounts and vehicles on the character sheet, so that we don't have to use (custom items) to keep track of the carry weight... like "Saddle Bags" that are items instead of containers that we can place on the mount (with the adjusted weight), or a "Rider" that totals yourself and all of your worn and carried items to add to your mount or vehicle.
Having the inventory handle this automatically would really be a welcome improvement.
Currently, you can move items into/onto the horse as a container. But since saddlebags are also a container, you can't put a container into another container... you have to create a "Saddlebags" item and use the calculated weight from the container, so that you can add it to the mount. The same is true with the Rider. If you want an easy calculation of the mount's total encumbrance, you have to add a "Rider" custom item with the calculated encumbrance + the character's own profile weight, and move that item onto the mount as well. Otherwise equipping any mount, vehicle, or the containers carried on the vehicles/mounts will add the encumbrance to the character instead. They need to allow linking of containers to mounts and vehicles for containers that they carry, and when equipping a mount or vehicle, it adds the character weight to the mount or vehicle instead of adding the vehicle/mount weight to the character.
Also, I use the Extras tab to add the mount as a customizable Extra. I allow a warhorse or beast companion that is better than normal (Homebrew rule), because I use the "Animal Handling" skill bonus as bonus points on the Mount stats due to breeding (if done as an off-adventure or background activity), which can improve attack, defense, and HP. The customization of the Extra does update the AC and HP in the Extras display, but the data sheet that is attached still has the basic stats. I have to notate the changes in the notes for the attack for the mount/beast/companion, if they act independently. It would be nice if you could edit the base stats of an Extra and have the calculation for Attack/Defense/HP and saving throws update automatically, especially if they can equip armor/barding. Since this is a fairly static calculation, I don't mind calculating it and notating it manually. This homebrew rule allows for Rangers/Paladins/Druids etc to have beast companions and mounts that are far stronger than the normal breed. That's just me, but I like having mounts that don't die easily, if you can rationally improve them. (Homebrew, Homebrew, Homebrew... don't crucify me. You don't have to do it.)

I would like the Horse to be shown with a link where you could independently manage the encumbrance of the horse.
