(Disclaimer: Content may contain spoilers for D&D "Honor Among Thieves," which I recommend for both those familiar and unfamiliar with D&D.) In the novel "Honor Among Thieves: The Road To Neverwinter," Edgin narrates stories to his daughter. While these stories delve into events from the past, the novel doesn't explicitly state whether Edgin is recounting these tales before or after the events of the movie.
The publisher page refers to Road to Neverwinter as an “origin story” and “prequel,” so I believe the events described happened before the start of the movie.
But in the book there's like 3 interlude chapters (and the prologue). The stories are getting told but when are they getting told. I know that the events told was before the movie but when Edgin is telling them there's on clue rather it is that before or after the movie. But thanks for the feedback and if you have information please post.
