im kinda hoping the artificer is in the PHB and they just are saying its not to be a surprise for the players but i know they would show it off to build as much hype as possible :( but a man can dream!
I kinda doubt it that just silly tbh...
Also anyone making vids that aren't doom saying seesh no one has positive vibes on any 'reacting to 5.5' vids
i think people not making positive vids says more out the book then it does the people

This is the nature of the online world in 2024. Clickbaity negative teasers draw people in and they stay for the offered doom and gloom (if some faux outrage can be conveyed even better). I imagine there are also some sour grapes from people not given advanced access to the PHB so they could highlight something from it on their channel but that is purely speculation on my part.
I’ve only listened to a couple of them but I have found Treantmonk’s video takes interesting.

Almost all of the ones I've seen are generally positive / bullish on the changes. None have been "OMG 5.5 IS PERF" but I wasn't expecting that anyway and neither should you.
Treantmonk, Constructed Chaos, the_twig, Insight Check, XP to Level 3, and the creators that got permission to do sanctioned previews have largely had good things to say. Even channels that nearly always skew negative like DnDShorts and Dungeon Masterpiece have had several good things to say about the changes.
I've zero interest in the next version. <shrug> Just don't care and don't need it.
Fueling that lack of interest is: I've been underwhelmed with the last D&D books I've purchased and wish I had returned them when I had the chance. Not getting burned again. ;)
looking forward to it, already ordered the PH and DMG, the local library host a game once a month and has already ordered the books and planning on starting

I kind of fell out of DnD in the 3.0 to 3.5 change. I came back into 5.0 with my daughter last year because she wanted to play and just started playing in regular one shots at a "local" game store a month or so ago. I had bought the 5.0 core rule books and have found 5.0 for casual play to be pretty good. I keep a DnD Beyond subsrciption and buy anything beyond the core books there because I remember the days of crates full of source guides and will sum it up with three words: "DO NOT WANT"
So I'm not heavily invested into 5.0 at least emotionally. I have more sourcebooks than I should in Beyond but at 45 years old buying a book here and there is not something that moves the budgetary needle. I ordered the PHB digitally in Beyond and will buy a copy from said game store when it comes out. For the record I find the digital bundling aspect to be really cutting the legs out from the few means of profit LGSs have but that is a side note.
To me 5.5 strikes me as largely a revision to adjust some mechanical issues on some classes, update the PHB To allow a few more of the "cool" things found in other sourcebooks, and play a bit of catch up. Its probably necessary to make adjustments after a decade. Did it move the needle in regards to my interest, or my daughters interest in playing? No because I don't think it is that much of a change.
We'll ultimately see when it comes out. The problem I had, as a player, in the whole 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 5E debacle was that lack of longevity of it. If 2024 lives up to the promises of being backwards compatible to 5.0 I see it as only opening options for players and tables to chose between. DnD will still be DnD and we can still have some reasonable expecation of what to expect when sitting down with a new group.
You mean the 2025 Monster Manual, which is being released 6 months after the new PHB? And a new DM, or one that does not a ton of time to alter monster stat blocks, what is that DM supposed to do for 6 months? If a DM chooses to use a 5e module in say, Sept, which has many stat blocks embedded in the module, is the DM supposed to go through all of them and gauge what is now a fair encounter and alter the blocks?
It has been explicitly stated that no monster stat blocks printed in the 2025 Monster Manual have been changed in any way that makes them incompatible with already published adventures; the changes made are in line with the changes made going from Volo's Guide to Monsters/Tome of Foes to Monsters of the Multiverse. Ie refined layouts and streamlined abilities to make DMs lives easier, and tweaks to damage, AC, hit points and saves in order to make those monsters better hit their listed CR.
It's all still D&D fifth edition and it's all backwards compatible

Yeah, sure. You need new books to run new characters. Pretty expected.
I hear the new DMG will even have advice on how to do this stuff.
