Sure, it said PC.....but some of us are hoping they just mean "computer"......and are waiting for clarification. They didn't mention Apple products in teh announcement, but did mention consoles (and mobile?).
So are you saying only Windows for now? PC can mean Windows or Mac and since this is built on Unreal, it should be able to be exported to both platforms.
Which is weird given they are developing in Unreal 5. It's not like developing for console or a phone where you have to completely rework the UI to fit the platform. It should be almost zero effort to release for Mac at the same time as Windows.
I didn't even think it was a question that it would be available for Windows and Macs since they said PCs, it's only when someone else mentioned it that I realized maybe WotC was using PCs to mean Windows only.

Speaking as someone who’s worked in games, I just want to make it clear that it’s definitely not “zero effort” to release on more than one platform during a beta, no matter what engine you’re using. It is regular practice for initial build work, and thus betas and early access games, to be on a single platform only, nearly always Windows. Only the biggest developers have the resources to release on more than one pre-launch, and most of the time that’s Windows and a console.
I get it - I’m a Mac user too (though with access to my partner’s games PC), and it’s always disappointing to have to wait. But this is not unusual practice, and in game circles “PC” is most often used as a synonym for “Windows PC”, not “Windows and Mac”.

While Unreal is cross-platform, the framework around the graphics engine isn't, and there's more than you think of that. In particular, the UI still needs to be completely rewritten. (Yes, many games get around this by just taking over and having their own interface, but this can't, because people are still needing to interact with a web browser, and zoom, and things, and stuff.)
If it were so easy to do, we'd see most unreal games get released on the Mac, and we really don't.
I just got my redemption codes today. I'm a Mac user with a maxed out M4 Max...sigh. Lucky I kept my old 2019 Intel MacBook Pro that I'll have to dual-boot into....<it hurts>....windows

Some people clearly never seen the Mac vs PC ads, where PC was basically shorthand for Windows.
Unable to find a thread on this, does anyone know if Sigil beta will be available on Mac and Windows PCs? As a Mac user, I have my fingers crossed.
Per the D&D Direct video only PC right now.

I swear I answered this somewhere else... anyway, I can confirm it is only PC for now. We wanna get it to Macs eventually!

Seems pretty clear that it's not Macs at the moment.

Unreal works differently on Mac and Windows. I'm not sure how common it is for computer games to beta in multiple operating systems.
Myself I'm just gonna wait till it's on Xbox not really worried about how long that takes as I game in person for my TTRPGs
How about Linux?
I'd expect Mac support well before Linux, and Linux support isn't likely to get beyond "It runs in WINE/Proton".
Bummer. Mac user here. While not unexpected, it's certainly sad. Hopefully "mobile" also means iPad native.
Super sad Mac user here. :-(
Hopefully it won't be too long before a Mac compatible version is released.

Thanks for the info much appreciated!

Macs vs PCs
what about freebsd? is that in the project timeline? /s
Just got my beta invite a few minutes ago, now I have to see if I can get it working under Wine or something. Is that still around?
