hello everyone, I’m Penguin, the DM and creator of a game called Lost Lords. For the past six years, I’ve been developing this game and guiding various groups through its pre-set campaigns, all within the world of Montel. Recently, I’ve been considering what more I could do with the world. I’ve thought about sharing it more widely with other DMs, but I’m also wary of the possibility that others might distort or misuse the time and effort I’ve invested. So, I bring it here to gather your thoughts: Should I open the doors to others, or should I stay patient and keep it to myself for now?
If you have any question feel free to ask or want me to elaborate more about the world i can.
If you're going to publish or make it freely available, people won't so much "distort and misuse" it as "make it their own". Nobody's ever going to use it exactly the way you expect them to. If that bothers you, you probably shouldn't. If the idea of other people playing with your toys sounds cool, you should. (And nobody says you need to google to try to find out what they're doing with it.)
A warning up front, though: no matter how great your work is, getting any kind of traction with it is going to be really hard. There's so much other stuff out there, and the majority of GMs are making up their own worlds, and most of the rest use official WotC stuff. I wouldn't even know where to begin, beyond "make a website".
