I’m making a list of the race/class tropes and have trouble with the Drow. I know Drizzt is a ranger, but I’m not sure how much weight I should give that fact.
According to the Forgotten Realms lore Drow have a very split matriarchl society. The women run the great houses, tend to be magic users, and worship of Lolth is foremost in their minds so for them I'd probably say either Cleric or Warlocks. The men are more martial so probably fighters
There is no trouble. Noble drow females tend to be Clerics. The males are either Wizards or Fighters. There is a lot of lore to this. Ranger for Drow is a remarkable outlier and only from adaptation, not from Drow training.
Drow are also known for being Warlocks (this was explicitly stated in prior editions as well.) Lolthite Drow in particular consort with fiends very frequently.
Back when drow were first introduced as a monster type (G3, D1-D3), male drow were mostly fighters or fighter/magic-users, female drow were mostly clerics.

Rock gnome Artificers just saying been a sterotype since the 90s, even before artificers had a class. The Rock gnome special ability is also an ability Artificers get for a reason.
Just saying WarCraft didn't invent the idea of Gnome Artificers, but they did make them cool.

To me Drow Ranger is a rare combo and not a trope. Drow were more commonly Cleric, Wizard or Fighter. Other you could add to the list:
Dragonborn Sorcerer
Dwarf (Mountain) Fighter

For the gnome, you might loosen up from illusionist to wizard generally.
Elf (wood) - Druid
Aaracokra - Ranger
Aasimar - Cleric, Warlock (Celestial)
Goliath - Barbarian
