I wanted to create a Magic Arrow (and/or Crossbow Bolt) that would cause the Fear Effect (low DC) if the arrow hit it's target, and when I went to create the item utilizing the normal Magic Item Creationtool in DDB, I could not figure out how to do this.
I know I could manually create a custom item for a character, but wanted something I could hand out to my players, and a Magic Item is easier.
Am I missing something, or is ammunition not included in the Magic Item Creation options?
TYIA!

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
To make homebrew ammunition you have to make it as a weapon.
There isn't a way to make a homebrew arrow that shows up as ammunition.
Greetings Jathom,
I thought about that, but I'm not sure what 'weapon' I would specify as the 'Base Weapon'.
Depending on what Weapon the player is going to use, the damage changes. (Shortbow=1d6, Hand X-Bow=1d6, Light X-Bow=1d8, Longbow=1d8, Heavy X-Bow=1d10)
I could use the weapon that shoots the projectile as the base weapon and just create 5 different versions of it (one for each type of weapon) if that is the only way to do this.
Maybe going the 'custom item' route is the best way to go.
Hmmmm....

My way of doing this, which wasn't obvious, was to create an arrow as a "potion"!
It isn't intuitive when filtering the equipment list on a character sheet, but I believe the functionality works.
RJP1973,
Thank you for the suggestion, I created a Magic Arrow using a Potion as the base, and it seems to work. I'll keep trying different options, but appreciate this suggestion and might just stick with this method.
Cheers!
