So, howdy once more. Yes, I do polls, I am weird that way. I did a poll a while back about the settings that people here use.
We know the overall data from the occasional releases (last one was 60% of folks use totally original worlds), so I figure what the hell, let's see where we end at the close of 2024.
Again, my motivation is just curiosity, but I do have to note (to be upfront) that I have the lore book for my own setting coming out in early early january. Not driving sales, but I don't want folks to think I am pitching it or anything.
I just love to know stuff like this.

I use an entirely homebrewed setting. I do have many things that are analogous to some official content/lore (e.g., planes that are much like the feywild and the shadowfell, but each with their own original lore, etc.)
Because I don’t have the time and/interest in constantly creating new lore ( I tried that years ago and decided it was too much) I use the basic Forgotten Realms world - heavily modified by the actions of my personal characters (mostly) and by the actions of a number of parties I’ve DMed for over the years. My current campaign ( on hold for now) is set in southern Faerun where the Halfling homelands are returning and being explored as hobbits and others start to settle in. I have grabbed bot the Phandelver modules (all 4/5) as well as ghosts of Saltmarsh and probably Dragons of shipwreck isle and kind of mashed them all together.
I find a suitable place in the Forgotten Realms that has the terrain features i'm looking for, with few things written about it, yet close to stuff with lots written about it. I then homebrew (fill in) that area. I also play that all those other settings, are mostly just different continents on the same world (with some exceptions).

Playing D&D since 1982
Have played every version of the game since Basic (Red Box Set), except that abomination sometimes called 4e.
Pretty much I took a bunch of stuff from official campaigns and squished it into a giant amalgamation of lore, story, and so on.

Hm. None of the above? My current game is a mishmash of multiple official settings with extra homebrew just because.

Shouldn't this be a multiple choice poll? My games use both official and third-party.

I can't vote, a use older and current official settings
My setting is at best officially lore adjacent as it exists in its own demiplane but has can touch on any setting

Same. I use everything along with homebrew.
