It's not marked L for Legacy, it's marked L for Legendary. Legacy monsters have a tag that says Legacy (?).
Demogorgon has already been updated, every monster in Monsters of the Multiverse (except the Dolphin Delighter) is a updated version of now legacy monsters from Volo's Guide to Monsters and Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes
A lot of the new Demon lords and Archdevils, though, got nerfed in terms of spellcasting. Now they are easier to run, but more work to prep if you actually want a scheming, spellcasting super villain.

The problem is that new stat blocks are almost entirely about combat. I sort of feel like it would be good to add a "behind the scenes" section to a lot of monsters, which talks about how they can influence an adventure outside of combat, possibly including effects that aren't in their stat blocks. For a trivial example, if you have a mage in your dungeon, you are likely to see more magical traps and lasting abjurations, more magical creatures (which are not necessarily created with a spell), PCs who enter the dungeon and leave again might find themselves subject to scrying, and so on.

I don't like how if you pull up Demogorgon it is marked as a L for Legacy.
I understand it is because now Mordenkainens Monsters of the Multiverse is replaced by the new Monster Manual 2024.
But now we are stuck with these really important creatures that are marked L for loser.
And probably, no book is coming out any time soon that will include them.
So it would be nice if, as a D&DBeyond benefit, wizards would at least just update them to use the 2024 monster standards (e.g. grapple on hit etc)
Obviously I can do it for my own pleasure, but I prefer using the "official" version.

Well darn, thanks for the correction.
I did wave my mouse over the L and it doesn't have any tooltip.
Tooltip be nice.
Just for reference in case it helps
Current version
Legacy version
As far as I can remember, content from the following books is flagged as Legacy
*Replaced by Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse
**Replaced by their 2024 versions
