* If psionic powers don't need somatic, verbal or material components then we should recover the display (visual, auditory, material, mental or olfatory) to avoid possible abuses of psionic-manifesters using their powers among the crowd (for example a dinner of high society) but nobody notices.
I always thought of Momo as an Astral Self Monk. Her powers go way beyond, but it's anime.
Quite often in various forms, psychic powers have the users make some sort of gesture whether it be touching their head or reaching out with their hands/arms.
The loudest cheerleaders for psionic class, sub-class, feat, or whatever, generally want one thing. For it to NOT be just another caster following the same rules as every other caster. Some other resource than spell slots. Because even when the powers that be introduce a psionic thing it still uses spell slots. Using the spell slot rule set and saying psionic powers are just another form of magic, some folks object to having mental powers be canceled by counterspell or dispel magic.
Some are asking for a radical change in powers but they are fewer in number. What these people want is for all seemingly psychic abilities to be exclusively for psionic characters - telepathy, telekinesis, clairvoyance, etc. Their argument that this would go towards making the class unique.

We could say the astral-self monk is using "spirit magic" and this is in the same sack than psionic.
Some players would rather psionic to be different in the same way some people want to wear special fashion style to show they are from other urban tribe. They don't want to feel their PCs are clones of Gandalf, Harry Potter, Merlin or doctor Strange but their medieval-fantasy version of X-Men, or jedi knights like Mace Windu or Luke Skywalker.
Some player could say her sorcerer could spend enchament spell-slots to counterspell telepatic powers.
If some low-lever player could use ectoplasm to craft time-limited tools, for example picklocks to open jail-locks. Verbal and somatic components could be important when a psionic character who is tied or jailed tried to escape. Or an astral construct could be used to explore a room with possible traps.
* I liked the blue goblin subrace because it was a true little-ugly-duckling among the psionic PC species. Outcast even his own people and rejected by everybody.
