This might be coming out of left field, but do you think your DM would allow a Homebrewed subclass? That way you either find something close to what you want gameplay/flavor wise or just make your own.
No, but he did allow renamed/reflavored/re-whateverpeoplewant to call it Oathbreaker as "Ronin", and all the ability names are renamed to kind of fit the theme.
I didn't take out or add anything in, so it is just "Oathbreaker", with all the ups and downs of that. I just wont use Animate Dead, and have to deal with Aura of Hate possibly helping enemies kill me better.
I have what i need, i'll just keep tinkering with stuff and see what happens
Reflavored to all of us means you have the same abilities but you called it something different. A Good character won't buff undead no matter what you call them. "Oh, it's okay Bob, I'm a Ronin, pay no attention to the powered up ghouls." Like not having a liege lord makes you have power over undead and a dark menacing aspect.

You do you.
Yes, I considered this - but if i take it out, it would be 'buffing' the class, in my opinion.
Flavourwise.....The Ronin's [aura of ]hatred for the wrongs enacted against him or his lord ,fuel the dark spirits that get close to him. Feeding on that hatred even as the Ronin draws strength from it himself?
How does GWM maul/greatsword, compare to dual weilding?
Can i use the Dual Wielder feat, to combine Battleaxe (Topple) with a Light Hammer (Nick)? Would that get me (at level 5, with Extra Attack,) Battle Axe, Light Hammer, Light Hammer, then still have a BA attack (or other BA) option to use?
If you want some off-hand super accuracy without nerfing ranged party members, go Oath of Devotion and use a Vex weapon like a hand axe, short sword or rapier in your “primary” hand.
When you hit with the Vex attack, the next attack roll has advantage. Primary hand: +5, off-hand Nick: +5 AND Advantage, Second Primary hand: +5, Bonus Action off-hand: +5 AND Advantage.
Topple, of course, is cool if you face a lot of enemies with low CON saves and/or have other melee pals..

I don't believe we have any ranged party members that will be affected by prone enemies to any great degree.
But, I can play around with all the masteries to my hearts content with long rests. To clarify though, Nick propety seems to add an extra attack, as long as it is being weilded off hand ?

Not exactly. It's Dual Wielder that actually gives you the "extra attack" in that case. Nick simply moves the extra attack that everyone gets by using a weapon with the light property to the same action as the original attack, freeing up your BA for something else (as you noted above). Dual Wielder gives you another attack as that "something else" as long as the weapon is a different weapon and does not have the Two-Handed Property. I think with your earlier example, you are going to need to do some juggling as the EA from Light/Nick also needs to be a different weapon from the one that started it. Note that "off-hand" is never mentioned, and while implied that your "other light weapon" is wielded at the same time and thus in your off hand, that isn't explicitly mentioned either. People have interpreted that to mean that you could strike with one weapon, drop and draw another with the same hand and strike with that one, too.
There is some debate about order of operations here as well (Nick weapon being the trigger for the other attack or needing to be used in the other attack), so talk with your DM about how they interpret that interaction.

Wouldnt be DnD without the rules being so muddy that individual DM's need to make their own instance rulings....

Ok awesome! Sounds like you basically figured it out, but feel free to comment if something related comes up.
Have fun!
