So I've been a Hollow Knight fan since 2018, and I decided I wanted to host a Hollow Knight/Silksong themed campaign, set in Hallownest and Pharloom, following a unique quest with OCs and a new omnipotent 'pale being' which seeks to unify all of the kingdoms into one collective consciousness.
I decided on classifying bugs like the Vessels, Hornet, The Knight, etc. as Feys, but also Elementals, and here's why: They are spirits, bound to magic, but also incarnates of the Void, so basically shadow elementals, but they are actually alive and can fall to illness, unlike Elementals, so Feys as well. As for infected like Broken Vessel or Hollow Knight, I chose Undead/Elemental, because still incarnates, but now they are undead.
I was thinking of having Hallownest/Pharloom exist on a line between the Feywild and Shadowfell (the Abyss where Vessels are born). But it's a bit confusing so I was wondering if I could get some help.

"No, I will burn all the world and its lies I'll reach and make it mine, that sly heart beating. So bury me in pleasure. Rest in peace, we fall together. If our paradise only takes the good and the brave. I'm starving anyway I love you, so whatevs. Burn it red, take my treasure, my honey. A heart embark a beautiful star. ...So far it feels amazing." -Kenshi Yonezu
Hey so I’m a massive holowknight fan too and I have some ideas below apologies in advance for grammar I got really excited by this idea and ended up typing while doing my grocery shopping
I think you could lead them through the games areas in the Standard progression maybe removing stag stations so cliffs>crossroads>green path>wastes>city and you could change claw dash and vs to keys that unlock the next area you could then introduce the dreamers from city and allow them to decide themselves which dreamers to pursue in order adding a boss fight to each one I think travelling back through areas would add spice you could maybe have them targeted by infected trying to stop them. I think you then add kings brand and birth place as pretty linear adventures and then the radiance fight maybe hornet in this instance is a Druid that wishes to heal the kingdom and acts as a sort of guide along things.

Yeah, I was planning to do the traditional things, like progressing from Dirtmouth all the way to the Dark Egg to kill the Hollow Knight and or Radiance. They would not have to go to The Abyss and Birthplace or even the City of Tears and stuff like that, but npcs would warn them that the Hollow Knight would be too powerful to take on in their current state, and they'd also need to break the three seals, so that leads to the Dreamers.

I don't know anything about Hollow Knight but there seem to be resources out there.
