First of all, i saw the new Campaign guide + Playerr handbook for Grim hollow on the marketplace, im seriously thinking of buying them (if i supported the kickstarter i get a discount), my main question about the books is will it add ALL the new things into dndbeyond, the Advanced weapon and background system, the transformation system, the new class, all of these are already incorporated into the Dndbeyond app?
Second question, my friend who is also one of my players shares his collection of books with us in the campaign, he has a BIG collection, so as the DM, if i buy the Grim Hollow books, will it automatically share with all the players, or will we have to choose wether I or my friend shares the books (since as far as i know, only one player can share books in the campaign)
If both questions are positive, im definitely buying the books.
The implementation of the Grim Hollow books is a little spotty to be honest. The subclasses and the Monster Hunter class are all working more or less as intended but the Build a Bear style system for creating a race didn’t fit with DDB’s systems so instead there’s just one of each race with a variety of the GH abilities to differentiate them from the canon races. The Transformations weren’t done at all, homebrewing them as a series of feats is the best option but you’ll need to do that yourself. I got them as part of the Kickstarter and I’ve been happy enough with my purchase but it’s disappointing some of the stuff isn’t there.
As for the content sharing so long as one of you has a master tier membership (doesn’t have to be the DM) and content sharing is turned on then everything that everyone in the campaign owns is shared. Worth pointing out that if you’re using shared content to create characters it only works if you create the character in the campaign
Yeah, the character creation is known to me, but my main interest is in the new Monster Hunter class, as one of the players uses it and he does everything manually on his laptop, so streamlining all the class features and auto calculations will be great for him, the second thing i really want is all the new weapons, as they are all common non magical weapons, and for some dumb reason, we cant homebrew common weapons, then i figured it would be a problem, next i really want to use the Advanced backgrounds, so if these 3 things are functional, ill manage, since non of my party even really uses the new races.
Also, thanks for the reply, hope youll have the info for my main 3 points to be positive and then ill buy the books.
A far as I’m aware all three of those work fine. The advanced weapons are all available as standard equipment (you need the feat to use them) the backgrounds are all available, and apart from a few bugs that come with any release on here the monster hunter and all its subclasses are available (not checked but that might only be with the 2024 rules) so I think you’re good to go

According to Ghostfire Gaming, trying to implement the transformations in Beyond's system nearly broke the website on a fundamental level, coding wise.
So no, they DID try to implement it. It just didn't work while Beyond staff were testing the transformations

I never said they didn’t try, I just said they were never done
