Is there any way to change the printable sheet to match the official character sheet? I can't find any options list anywhere. I just bought a bunch of rule books to make character creation easier for my players but the format is very different.
I am not exactly tech savvy but what I do is on the "Whats next " part of character creation I use the export PDF to save to a file on my computer. From there I print the sheet and it looks like a formal sheet.
Yeah, I used the export to pdf, both as you described and from the menu if you click the portrait when you have the character open. When I look at the pdf that's exported, it looks right at first, but when I look closer there are problems. The first page is fine, but the ones following all had problem s, information missing like only part of the inventory listed, spell list missing, a couple of mostly blank pages, etc. When I tried to send it to the printer it came out blank. I found someplace else that said that part could be the program I was using to open the pdf though. Still not great with the messed up data.
now sorry ifthis may be a dumb reply but are you sure it is not your printer? i have expierenced in the past that it is just my printer inkt dried up or running out? still good luck with it
Yeah, the outline prints out fine, it just didn't print the content. As I said in my last post, I think that's because of the program I used to try to print it. The problems with specific data missing I haven't figured out yet.
I'm trying to print the sheets for my campaign, and I got an error - that I didn't have permission to export to pdf? and the other characters are claimed so I can't even print them
I just experienced the same proplems. Wanted to print out a character cause we having a live table round :D but unfortunately there is a lot of information that's not getting carried over to the pdf. I assume due to the amount of text and stuff. I was trying to print out a level 10 bard and a level 10 cleric. some specials and character traits didn't get carried over into the pdf. neither the preview or the print had it nor did opening it with a different program help it in any way. Some sentences are just cut off even.
What I might do is cut and paste the info that is having trouble into text doc and print that, the just use the sheet as it prints out. I know this is a pain but it can be better then nothing in the short term.
While I do not know exactly what is going on with your sheet it sounds like there is too much text in the space presented for printing and it either does not have the ability to change the font size or the material is protected for some reason. For example I have seen some games where you can have info in a digital format but to keep "copy right" on the info it will not print out.

The best way to print a character sheet is to use the "export sheet" option by clicking on the character name on the D&D Beyond character sheet.
This will download a PDF, populated with your character details. That PDF is the official D&D format.

When I tried this, the sheet printed out empty. The details are there when I open the downloaded file. Any ideas?

I had the same problem, sheet printed fine, all the text was missing, happened if I printed from Adobe DC, Edge.

Invisible data sometimes becomes visible after clicking the field in the pdf reader (Foxit) and selecting the text.

How do you access the themed character sheets?

Good Luck
I have the same problem after getting the 2024 version in the sources.
