Hi, I'm relatively new to doing homebrew items within dndbeyond. And I was wondering if anyone has succeeded in making an item show up as a bonus action?
As a DM I have been trying to add an item that grants an action option. Please consider adding this option for homebrew content. Just being able to add an action on the homebrew editor would be awesome, so that the new option was listed for the Character Sheets' "Actions."
Agreed, there's a homebrew creation category already that let's you add actions in it's editor, don't recall if it was class, or race, or whatever, but makes it seem like it's at least possible to add to items. In the mean time, you could try making the "action" into a custom spell that the item grants?
There are a few items in game which grant actionable features (c.f. answerer, scimitar of speed,) but instead of having the action button, the extras are listed in the description. I recommend you do the same with your homebrew until those features are added.

It's not currently possible to set any type of action in a item.
