In Irish mythology The Morrigan is depicted as a Goddess. Obviously though, I want her to be a PC, so I was thinking if making her a great, great, great, great granddaughter of a God.
So she still has a tiny spark of divinity and it is this spark that gives her, her heroic capabilities, but she is not an actual God herself.
I also want to keep her traditional interpretation of being 3 people, but play this off as the character having multiple personalities, that manifest themselves depending on the situation.
I want to say that her multiple personality disorder is a consequence of her linage. That she is descended from a mad evil God and although she is not evil herself, she has inherited the madness of her ancestor. So where she is only one person, that person is split into three personalities.
In Irish mythology, the Triad of The Morrigan, is as follows:
Badb: A war Goddess associated with battle, destruction, and death and often appeared over battle as a hooded crow, or ran alongside warriors disguised as a grey-red wolf. Badb was connected to rebirth as a watcher of the cauldron of regeneration in the Otherworld. She was also a Witch and a sorceress, and a Prophetess who foresaw the future.
Macha: The root word “mag” translated means field, plain or pasture. This name connects and gives Macha power over the sacred land and horses, representing wealth, power and symbolizing the elite warriors. She was also connected to fertility by the land and horses, and cursed the male Red Branch warrior to suffer nine days of birth pangs when forced to run a race. As part of the trinity, she rained down fire and blood on her enemies.
Nemain: Her name translates to panic, frenzy or venomous. Also a deity of battle, death and destruction, she appeared as a carrion crow. Neiman was a prophetess and her battle cries meant death would soon follow. By shrieking furiously, she intimidated, panicked and confused soldiers on the battle field into dying of fright or mistaking their own comrades for enemies. This aspect connects to the role of Banshee.
The issue is, I am having trouble making a character who embodies these three personalities. The character is not a Goddess but she is heroic and I have having trouble reconciling the abilities of a Goddess with the abilities of a mortal but heroic PC descended from a God.
Also, I am finding it difficult to come up with a God that she is actually descended from because I don't seem able to find an evil God who had multiple personalities like this.
Do you guys and girls have any ideas on how I could make this character? Your help would be most greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

I had a PC war cleric in my campaign who worshipped the Morrigan. It...didn't go well (CE and all that). Anyway...
As far as what god your character is descended from, why not the Morrigan herself? Foreign, unknown, unnamed, and forgotten gods all exist in d&d. The astral plane is has the crumbling bodies of forgotten gods that serve as the closet thing to physical islands in it.
I don't have any advice on how to role play the character though.
if your talking the biblical god then make her a descendent of Lilith, Adam’s first wife,

And here I thought I was on my best behavior. BUT NO I got scolded and threatened with corner time. I guess we are not allowed to express our feelings or opinions on anything here. All hugs and kisses every body's special every one gets a ribbon that says 'Your a winner" Not here more then a week and I got naughty points twice. How many points do I get?
Why are these multiple personalities a disorder, or the inheritances of a mad evil god? In many mythologies (including the one you have described) triads are used to reinforce the plurality, rather than, duality of life. Rather than try to make a PC that encompasses every aspect of The Morrigan, perhaps create a character that is intrinsically tied to one aspect, but acutely aware of the other aspects. But all my mad rambling aside, the only triumvirate-ish I can think of is Tyche > Tymora & Besheba which while not exactly evil, is certainly chaotic.
Judging from what I've read - an Archfey Warlock might work. For Nemain it has the Fey Presence ability which can fear those around you and you could get Pact of the Chain for a Crow/Raven familiar? She'll also have the spellcasting for Badb and Macha. I'm guessing a Druid might also work to some degree.
Definitely seems like this might need a fair chunk of multiclassing though. Perhaps with Fighter or Barbarian for some melee. Or Hexblade Warlock with Long Death Monk for Hour of Reaping? There are a lot of possibilities.
If I were going to play each personality by itself I would probably make Badb a Divination Wizard, Macha a Land Druid and Nemain a Warlock. I'm guessing 3 separate character sheets (one for each personality) is a silly idea?
Definitely seconding archfey warlock. You might look at how the eldrin personality changes work in tome of foes. I'm wondering how a bard would work, one personality may focus on enhancing your allies(bless, heroism, aid, ect) another one would focus on debilitating foes(bane, crown of madness, hold person ect) glamor bard flavor could be the Divine blood coming out, valor inspiration can either help or hinder I think.

While discussing this with someone else, it was suggested that I make the character be just one of a set of triplets., With each one being a physical manifestation (a persona) of a particular aspect of the God, from which they are descended .
It was also suggested that I choose one triplet as the character and let the others be NPCs.
That way I could have a persona of the Morrigan without needing to try and turn a God into a PC, since a single persona would only possess *some* of the powers and capabilities of her ancestor.

I’m now imagining some sort of civil war in the psyche of The Morrigan in which 2 of the aspects unified and cast your character out among the mortals. It’s twisting the lore a little bit but the 3 subraces of Aasimar dovetail into this concept: Protector/Badb, Scourge/Macha & Fallen/Nemain. Depending on which aspect and what kind of character you want to play several classes could be thematic.
-Divine Soul Sorcerer is pretty straightforward.
-As a Warlock (where you are bound to the other 2 aspects whether they like it or not) The Celestial, Archfey (if you think that The Morrigan is fey) or Undying (this is a bit of a stretch, but might work if you want to highlight the darker side) could fit.
-A bard has some very thematic ties to Celtic mythology and the College of Valor or College of Whispers seem appropriate.
-I find a paladin to be very interesting, especially since some of the capstones allow you transform into an almost godlike being, the Oath of Vengeance feels very natural (I have been cast down, now I curse you and will see you destroyed!), the Oath of Conquest is more tied to The Morrigan as an entity, and the Oath of Redemption could offer some very interesting role playing opportunities.
-The War, Grave (and Death) domains could work if it’s not too much of a stretch for a cleric to represent an avatar of their domain rather than a worshiper.
-The Path of Zealot also feels especially appropriate, if you want to play a more martial character.
-Like the bard, the druid has very deep roots in Celtic mythology, however none of the circles seem to fit (maybe Nemain/Spoers?).
-There’s the School of Divination if you want to play up The Prophetess.
-The Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster could be played as someone with a little bit of the divine(even though they’re arcane casters) spark left, but now I’m pulling at threads...
