I want to turn Ruby Rose from the anime RWBY into a d&d character. Here is some info about about her but there is lots more on her fandom page
Ruby is a huntress. Hunters and huntresses are somewhat analogous to monster hunters/adventurers. They are extremely strong powerful people all of whom have some kind of magic ingrained into their very being and Ruby is a prodigy - accepted to a highly respected and prestigious school based solely upon natural talent and ability.
She weilds a scythe weapon called Crescent Rose. A transformative scythe that can take on different forms and allows her to switch up her attacks, to keep the enemy off gaurd or to better attack an enemies weak points
Also, as I said, all huntresses and hunters have magic ingrained into their very being and Ruby can use magic when called for, though she prefers close range fighting using her scythe as apposed to long range magic attacks.
Ruby hates the Grimm (the evil in the anime and manga and somewhat analogous to fiends - devils or demons, or perhaps evil dragons) and will stop at nothing to kill them.
Despite this hatred though, she is cool and calm during a fight and rarely makes mistakes. Though she sometimes over estimates her own abilities and might need to retreat, she will do everything in her power to put right the errors that she has made and with the help of her friends - usually manages to do so. She will not let innocent people suffer because of her though and always learns from the any mistakes that she does make - never making them again.
Academically, Ruby is an average student and doesn't much like academic classes. It's worth noting though, that at her school, even an average student is a certified genius when compared to normal people.
Ruby excels in combat training and physical activity. Note however, that she is a generalist, she can't directly compete against those who specialise in a particular type of combat or physical activity, but she is smart smart enough to devise a plan to defeat her opponents and possess the fortitude to hang in the fight long enough to execute her plan.
Her plans usually involve using her own weaknesses to her advantage and her opponants strengths against them. Often times, her opponants will think they have the upper hand, only to fall into a trap.
This betrays her true abilities. She is cool, calm and collected. She is able to think of strategies, even during a fight and possess the patients to wait for the optimal time to execute those strategies.
Because of this, there are few enemies that Ruby can not defeat. Though it might take her awhile to defeat them, she has went up against enemies well beyond her weight class or power level, and though sheer force of will, combined with her ability to stay calm and think while under pressure - she has almost always emerged the victor. In the event that she fails however, she still doesn't give up. She might retreat, but she comes back with a new plan and her friends and wins the second time.
It's only rarely that it takes her more than two attempts to defeat her enemies. The ones who have survived multiple battles with Ruby, are the ones who have power beyond mortals.
Socially, Ruby is quite awkward and doesn't make friends easily - preferring to meet and converse with the weapons of the other students, rather than the students themselves. However, she is very loyal and kind once you get to know her and once she has made friends with a person, she isn't stand offish or anything like that. She is willing to share whatever she has with her friends, and will fight with and for her friends, with everything she has - even risking her own life to save theirs.
So in general. Ruby is kind hearted, loving and enjoys life. She despises anything or anyone that is harmful to life, or harms others. She will try to persade both people and monsters away from hurting either her friends or the innocent people of the world. Where she can not persuade them, she will out right tell them to leave those people alone or they will have to face her - and she has the combat prowess to back up her threat.
So how would.i turn this anime character into a d&d character?
Fighter gunslinger, glaive and rifle (upgrade to bad news eventually), archery fighting style, sharpshooter feat. Race might want to be tabaxi to get feline agility, or variant human with mobile feat.
(Also, I pretty much skipped all of the part you were talking about Ruby, so if there were specific characteristics you wanted, please point them out)
Ranger (probably Hunter or Monster Slayer). Probably pick Defense or Dueling (if her scythe is one-handed). Dump Cha, max Dex and Wis, and take decent Int, Con, and Str, with that last being the least important. Favored Enemy (Fiends). You get half casting, Extra Attack at 5th, and other martial features. If your DM allows UA revised ranger, you get a damage bonus against fiends. You're remarkably acrobatic, with mental stats that could be interpreted to justify the target level of strategy. I recommend picking up Acrobatics, Intimidation, and Persuasion from somewhere. You'll have to homebrew the scythe.

A caffeinated nerd who has played TTRPGs or a number of years and is very much a fantasy adventure geek.
