The Hermit background in the PHB includes a “Life of Seclusion” table immediately before the “Feature: Discovery” section. This table (selection, drop down, whatever) does not seem to be present when choosing “Hermit” in the Character Builder.
Is this on purpose or did I forget to click somewhere?
These tables don't have drop downs or anything because many players either ignore them or choose different things - those tables are only suggestions to think about for your character and not designed to be a list: for instance, in many cases you can choose multiple options, or just one, or all, or chose one or two and then make up a third, etc. Having the site creature all the dropdowns and be editable and be ignorable and let you mix-and-match between made-up and in-list? Complicated as heck to code up. So, the simple option is, if you chose something, add it to your Notes or Backstory (because that's where it's supposed to go when making a character).

I do what Cyb3rM1nd suggests, but because I also like the dice to decide things to mix things up for me, I am forced to go outside of DDB to make a roll while referencing the source material instead of the centralized features of all the others background stuff. I didn't want to make a suggestion in the Feedback thread or suggestion site as I haven't gone through enough to be certain it wasn't already suggested. It seems like something people might request.
I'm all about centralized management which DDB does very well in most cases. This is a minor 1-time-per-character inconvenience, but it would fit DDB's centralized theme.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.

I appreciate your response, but politely disagree. Perhaps you misunderstood. The table is not present in the character builder. A newer player may not realize that it is missing.
As for the complicated coding, the option is already present in the Homebrew editor as “Background-Specific Table Name”, which then corresponds to the “Background-Specific Table” section and allows for multiple entries (similar to “Suggested Characteristics”). It doesn’t appear to work, for pre-made backgrounds or home brewed ones.
Another example can be found in the “Criminal / Spy” Background. Perhaps this discussion can be moved by a moderator to the “Bugs & Support” thread.

Yes, I did misunderstand, thank you. I thought you were asking for there to be a drop-down table or something when it seems you're just saying the table itself doesn't appear in the builder at all when it shows the background - in otherwords it doesn't show the full background. I see now, and do agree it should do so.

I don't think you missed anything. It does it to me too. In fact, you noticed there was something missing.

Yeah, the fact that the table is missing is a bug. It doesnt need to have rollable functionality be included, just be visible.
