Just confirming, so I'm not losing my mind. The ability for Alchemist Artificers to craft potions at 1/2 the cost and 1/4 the time that it would normally take has been removed from the class, with the move from UA to Eberron, correct?
(I kind of wish the UA content didn't change over for a few days so we could compare and confirm changes)
Also, I think Battle Smiths could craft armor at the same discounts, I think, but I only really researched Alchemists at the time.
(also: It's totally fine, imo, It was cumbersome to research HOW to craft stuff, and then make a spreadsheet of all the possible items and figure out their costs & times, and then convince your party that you needed a week off to craft 40 hours worth of stuff :P So I can see how it streamlines the class a bit. Just want to confirm it. )
The class as a whole gets the level 10 feature Magic Item Adept which does:
If you craft a magic item with a rarity of common or uncommon, it takes you a quarter of the normal time, and it costs you half as much of the usual gold.
Just be aware - like it says - that it's not all inclusive now. It's common or uncommon rarity only - but also isn't just potions. So in a way it's better and in a way it's worse.
Ah cool, I found where the old text was grandfathered into my UA Alchemist character sheet. At Level 3 Alchemists got:
"Crafting. If you craft a magic item in the potion category, it takes you a quarter of the normal time, and it costs you half as much of the usual gold."
But now all Artificers get what you quoted above at Level 10.
"If you craft a magic item with a rarity of common or uncommon, it takes you a quarter of the normal time, and it costs you half as much of the usual gold."
So they don't specialize anymore, can do any Common or Uncommon magical item, and have to wait until Level 10.
I like it a little better. I'm just updating my character to the new Eberron rules. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, the crafting abilities have been removed. I think it makes sense too as it was too niche to be a whole subclass feature

Potions should count for this as well.

D'oh!
There it is. It was moved to a later level (10).
Ok, I skimmed over that for some reason.
Thanks, Emmber!
